The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike novel Chapter 729

Chapter 729

Amelia asserted, “The decision regarding my son’s stay does not rest with you.” She grasped her son’s hand, intending to depart and soothe his distress.

Considering the presence of numerous parents in the vicinity, she was reluctant to allow the disagreement to further embarrass Aiden.

In an abrupt outburst, that same parent exclaimed, “Why must our children share a kindergarten with a child whose parent has a criminal history? I believe a criminal’s child is predisposed to criminality. It might even be genetic!”

She voiced her opinion loudly, clearly intending for everyone nearby to hear. In an instant, the gaze of all parents shifted toward Amelia and her son.

Amelia came to a standstill, turned, and leveled a cold, angry stare at the offending parent. “I cannot recall any past grievances that justify such venomous words from you. Moreover, your remarks, spoken in the presence of children, are utterly inappropriate. I insist on an apology for my son. He has never engaged in any unlawful behavior, and you are not entitled to maliciously speculate about his future in this manner!”

The parent, momentarily taken aback by Amelia’s assertiveness, retorted with a shrewd glare, “You expect me to apologize? Who do you think you are, demanding such a thing? Just because you were incarcerated before, do believe you have that right?”

you

“You!” Amelia glared at her. The memory of her time in jail was the deepest pain in her heart and the origin of all her suffering.

Despite this, she refused to let her son be ridiculed that day, no matter the cost. Allowing such an incident to transpire could scar him for life.

She gripped her son’s hand tightly and fixed her angry gaze on the woman before her. “If you refuse to apologize, I will take legal action against you. Regardless of the time and energy it requires, I am determined to ensure you make amends to my son!”

With unwavering resolve, she vowed to see this through before her last breath. Perhaps, it was one of the few acts she could perform for Aiden.

“Haha, considering legal action, are you? I find it utterly amusing that someone with a criminal record dares to threaten others with lawsuits!” that woman remarked with a sneer, and she dismissed Amelia’s intentions without a second thought.

Just then, a deep male voice resonated through the air. “If you refuse to apologize, prepare yourself for a court summons. What lies ahead won’t merely be a demand for an apology when the time comes. I promise you, I will pursue damages that could financially ruin you and leave you with no support

whatsoever!”

The icy tone and fierce demeanor of the speaker silenced the arrogant woman abruptly, leaving her to gaze at the person before her in shock.

This woman also had Amelia’s history on the Internet. Naturally, she had come across those online images of Warren and was well aware of his appearance. Initially, she had assumed that Warren would harbor disdain for a child with disabilities.

However, Warren was standing before her now, and it was evident that he intended to defend Amelia.

Besides, Warren’s background had long been explicitly detailed on the Internet. Although there were whispers and jokes about Warren being “The Magnanimous. Cuckold” due to the incident with Irene, no one dared utter such words in his

presence.

Furthermore, in recent news, Warren had personally reported a series of crimes. within the Fletcher family, including fraud. He had even provided meticulous evidence, leading to the detention of three members of the Fletcher family by the police.

Consequently, Warren had also earned the moniker of a ruthless individual on the Internet.

Given his ruthlessness toward someone who was once his fiancée, there was no doubt that he could display the same cruelty to a stranger.

The woman’s expression contorted into a hideous grimace, fear flickering across her face.

After all, she hailed from an ordinary family. Although her family was relatively well-off, and her husband held a high-ranking position in the department, in comparison to Warren, they were significantly less influential.

If Warren indeed pursued legal action against her, her family would find themselves in a precarious situation.

Initially, she had intentionally sought to draw the attention of the other parents around her, hoping to put Amelia in a miserable position. However, the tables had turned, and now all eyes were fixed upon her, leaving her the one feeling

thoroughly embarrassed.

Overwhelmed with shame, fear, and anxiety, the woman stammered in frustration, “I-I apologize for my senseless words earlier. Mr. York, please overlook my thoughtless remarks!”

“Do not apologize to me, but to my son. And…” He paused, hesitating briefly before adding, “To my son’s mother as well!”

At that moment, he found himself at a loss for words, uncertain how to define the relationship between him and Amelia.

The woman’s face flushed with embarrassment and awkwardness. Eager to escape the situation, she hastily turned to Amelia and Aiden. “I’m truly sorry. I spoke

thoughtlessly earlier. I-I apologize to both of you. I promise I will never utter such words again. Please forgive me!”

After uttering her apologies, the woman swiftly grabbed her son and hurriedly made her exit.

Amelia lowered her head and said to Aiden, “Let’s head back. Granny is waiting for us at home.”

“Mommy, what does ‘illegitimate child’ mean?” the young boy suddenly inquired.

Amelia froze, and Warren, standing beside them, tensed visibly. A fleeting pang of pain flickered in his eyes.

Before Amelia could respond, Warren spoke up. “Aiden, I’m sorry. It’s my fault, but I can assure you that you are not an illegitimate child. You are the only child in my life.”
