The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike novel Chapter 742

Chapter 742

Jonathan remained silent, not uttering a word.

Amelia spoke up. “No matter the circumstances, if you genuinely care for Rosalie and love her deeply, don’t hurt her.”

Jonathan’s eyelashes quivered slightly, and after a prolonged pause, he replied, “The last thing I ever want in my life is to hurt her.”

Calvin entered the ward and noticed Rosalie wearing a hospital gown, resting on the bed. Her complexion still appeared pale and frail.

“Sorry,” he said. He never intended for things to unfold this way, for her to find out the truth in such a manner, and for it to lead to her distress and

hospitalization.

Originally, he had planned to keep this truth buried deep within him, intending to find other means to make Yvette face the consequences and be imprisoned. Yet, things often did not go as wished.

Just like back then, he had a strong desire to be with her. Unfortunately, at the very moment when she needed his help the most, he chose not to believe her. He himself had pushed her back to Jonathan again.

Now, no matter the multitude of regrets in his heart, they all seemed to be in vain. “You don’t need to apologize to me. I’d just like to see the contents of the email Mr. Youngblood sent you. If it’s possible, could you forward me a copy of those contents?” Rosalie requested.

Calvin was taken aback, appearing somewhat surprised. “You want to see the email?”

“Is that okay?” she asked.

He pursed his lips slightly. “I can send it to you, but considering your current condition…”

“I am well aware of my own body, and I’ll manage my emotions,” she replied. She thought, “It’s just that the person who should have known the truth of this matter from the beginning is me! In the end, everyone else finds out the truth, but I’m the only one left in the dark.”

Calvin took out his phone and forwarded the anonymous email he had received to the email address provided by Rosalie.

After finishing everything, Calvin said, “Rosalie, I don’t know what will happen next, but… if there comes a day when you need my help, don’t hesitate to ask. My phone number will never change. Whatever kind of help you need, I will be there for you.”

As long as she asked, he would go to great lengths and do whatever it took without

hesitation.

Rosalie shook her head. “Calvin, I said it before, and I’ll say it again. You should let me go. You should not hold on to the things you need to let go. Otherwise, you will forever be trapped in them, wasting your feelings.”

Calvin smiled bitterly as he thought, “Let go?”

Indeed, it was easy to say those two words. However, it was incredibly difficult to actually do so.

At this time, he couldn’t let go, nor did he want to let go. He willingly confined himself to that feeling, even though it was nothing but a waste, as he knew deep down that he would never receive a response.

Yet, he was still unwilling to let her go.

After Calvin left, Rosalie asked the medical staff who was taking care of her to retrieve her phone from Jonathan.

Her hospital admission had been sudden, so she didn’t have her phone with her. Half an hour later, the medical staff handed her the phone.

However, while handing her the phone, the medical staff whispered to her, “Mrs. Youngblood, Mr. Youngblood has been waiting outside the ward. Should I let him in?”

“No need,” she replied. Perhaps she wasn’t even mentally prepared to see him at the moment.

Indeed, for her, it felt like a bolt from the blue, striking her with tremendous force and causing her immense pain.

However, for the sake of her health and the babies in her belly, she couldn’t allow herself to succumb to the pain, even if it was excruciating.

Rosalie opened her phone, accessed her email account, and stared at the email that Calvin had sent her earlier.

The email should have been from Leonard to Calvin.

At that moment, her mind flashed back to the words Leonard had spoken to her when he met her before his passing.

“Then… let’s make a bet… Let’s bet if you truly love Jonathan so much…” he said. She thought, “Could the bet that Mr. Youngblood mentioned be related to this truth? Is this truth meant to test my love for Jonathan?”

Leonard entrusted this truth to Calvin, and if things had gone according to Calvin’s original intentions, perhaps this truth would never have been revealed to her. She would never have known.

In that case, maybe she would have been happier, but at the same time, she would have lived her whole life without knowing who had harmed her and almost destroyed her life.

She would also never know the reason behind all the suffering she had endured. “Is it better for a person to live in a haze, oblivious to the truth, or to live with a clear understanding of reality?” she wondered.

Perhaps there was never an exact answer to that question. Each person’s choices were different, and as a result, what was considered right or wrong also varied. However, she would rather endure the pain of being aware of the truth than live in complete ignorance in this lifetime.

She opened the email and looked at the contents of the message.

The email contained detailed information, including all the details of the case she was involved in years ago, along with specific evidence pointing to Yvette as the culprit.
