The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike novel Chapter 746

Chapter 746

Over the past few days, there had been a dramatic turn of events. The Hamilton family’s financial chain was in a crisis. Due to their inability to pay back their loans, the banks had petitioned the court to freeze the Hamilton family’s assets. At the same time, a media outlet reported that police had arrested Yvette at a fan event organized to commemorate her.

Although Yvette had retired from the entertainment circle, she still had a lot of loyal fans. She had attended the fan meeting all dressed up, even wearing a necklace that was worth 6 million dollars. She had also invited some journalists to cover the event.

Originally, Yvette wanted to attend the fan event to trend on social media as a show of the Hamilton family’s power and also to prove that the Hamilton family was not in financial crisis. Unfortunately, the police showed up at the fan event. In other words, she was handcuffed by the police, witnessed by her many fans. The police had also announced on the show that Yvette had been arrested as a murder suspect.

When her fans heard that, they were completely dumbfounded. They wondered which murder the police were talking about and were in disbelief over the fact that their Goddess Yvette could be a murder suspect.

Yvette and the Hamilton family couldn’t hide it even if they wanted to because too many fans had witnessed her arrest.

Following her arrest, the matter suddenly climbed to the top of the trending topic on the Internet, making Yvette the center of public opinion. Later, a netizen wrote an exposé online that the case in which Yvette was arrested as a suspect was related to Melanie’s car accident.

In other words, Yvette was the real murderer in Melanie’s case.

When the news broke, the public was in an uproar.

After all, when Melanie died, there were photos and news reports of her expressing her grief over Melanie’s death. In addition, there had been more than one occasion when Yvette had spoken on variety shows about her longing for her sister. She even wrote short compositions and posted them on the Internet every year to commemorate Melanie.

It was the epitome of sisterly solidarity.

But now she was the murder suspect in Melanie’s accident case.

In other words, Yvette had been fooling the public all along.

Even though the police hadn’t released any specific updates on the case, netizens were suddenly all over the Internet cursing Yvette and the Hamilton family.

Some netizens even rushed over to Xanthos Group’s official media account and

cursed them out.

At that moment, Zachary had a complicated expression on his face as he scrolled through the content on his phone.

“I never thought that Yvette was the one who had planned Melanie’s murder! Moreover, the police have conclusive evidence of this and have even obtained Yvette’s confession to the murder!” Zachary thought.

While ordinary netizens could only play guessing games online, Zachary went directly to the police station and met with Yvette.

When he asked her why she had done that and what kind of deep-seated grudge she had against her sister, the woman he loved said with a cold smile, “It was all because she shone too brightly! My parents devoted themselves to raising her as the heir of the family. I was not inferior to Melanie in any way, but they chose her over me! She had even become Jonathan’s fiancée! All the glory and limelight was on my sister. No one paid any attention to me!”

“But even so, you are the second daughter of the Hamilton family. You had everything you needed. Your parents would have eventually given you everything that was rightfully yours!” Zachary said.

“What’s the point of getting Melanie’s leftovers?” Yvette snorted coldly, “If Melanie were still alive, and the fact I was just the second daughter of the Hamilton family, your parents wouldn’t have valued me so much when I was dating you. They wouldn’t have asked you to be so attentive and considerate to me!”

Zachary’s face suddenly turned red. He knew that Yvette was right and that his parents only valued her because she was going to inherit the Hamilton family in the future.

“But Rosalie was innocent. You had already framed her for the murder. Why did you have to treat her like that in prison?” Zachary asked.

When Zachary thought about how Yvette had treated Rosalie back then, coupled with the fact that Yvette was the actual murderer, he felt a chill spread in his heart. “How many scenes has Yvette enacted in front of me?” he wondered.

“It was her own misfortune that she was your girlfriend! Only by taking her out of the picture can I become your girlfriend!” Yvette sneered. She suddenly laughed sarcastically again. “I just wanted to see how much Rosalie meant to you in your heart, but… Haha… It turns out she meant nothing to you!” After laughing to her heart’s content, Yvette paused and said, “Zachary, when Rosalie was your girlfriend, you could throw her away for the sake of the Xanthos family. What about me now? Will you try to get rid of me to save the reputation of the Xanthos family? Or will you help me regardless of the consequences because you love me?”

Yvette stared intently at Zachary with her beautiful eyes as she asked that question. There was a trace of nervousness and expectation in her gaze.

However, to their disappointment, Zachary remained silent and said nothing

more.
