The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike novel Chapter 761

Chapter 761

“Yes. Someone placed the baby right outside the security post secretly. From the surveillance cameras, it seems like Mr. Wilmer,” the butler said. He paused for a moment before he blurted, “The child bears a striking resemblance to you when you were younger.”

The butler had seen Jonathan when the latter was a baby.

He still remembered Lucian holding a weeping Jonathan standing outside the entrance of the Youngblood residence.

Back then, Lucian had held hope that Leonard would acknowledge his wife on his child’s behalf. Nevertheless, Leonard had proven to be heartless, showing no concern for his grandson and even abandoning his own son in the process.

At that time, Leonard said, “You can take your child back to the Youngblood family, but that woman will never be a part of the Youngblood family!”

Lucian left with Jonathan in the end.

At that moment, the butler regarded the baby in his arms as though he were seeing a young Jonathan.

Jonathan’s body stiffened. His gloomy eyes suddenly widened, as if he had seen something incredible. “He looks like me when I was younger?” he asked in a trembling hoarse voice.

“Yes, you guys look alike,” the butler replied.

Jonathan’s body quivered as he staggered toward the butler. At this moment, Carlos gasped for breath, feeling as if he had come alive.

The baby in the butler’s arms continued to cry, nestled in a cozy blanket. He had a rosy complexion.

“Is that possible? Could this child be mine? But Rosie was pregnant with triplets. Why is there only one child? What about Rosalie? Where is she?” Jonathan thought.

At that moment, Carlos’s phone suddenly rang. After answering the call, Carlos’s expression changed abruptly, and he quickly said to Jonathan, “Mr. Youngblood, it is Mr. Wilmer on the call. He said he has something to say to you.” Jonathan’s expression changed drastically as he quickly said, “Let him say it!” Carlos hurriedly pressed the speaker, and Kurt’s voice rang out. “Mr. Youngblood, you must have seen the child now. He’s your child. He has been in the incubator for more than a month, but he doesn’t have any illness. He is considered healthy.” “He is my child!” Jonathan pondered as his eyes reddened. He rushed toward Carlos, grabbed the latter’s phone, and shouted at Kurt on the other end of the phone, “What about Rosie? Where is she?”

At this moment, the only thing he cared about most was Rosalie.

Kurt’s voice rang out from the other end of the line. “Do you want to see Rosalie? Sure. I’ll give you an address. Come to this location.”

After Kurt reported the address, Jonathan bolted out of the room immediately. Carlos hurriedly followed behind.

The butler was rooted to the spot, gazing at the crying baby in his arms. “It’s truly Mr. Youngblood’s child! But Mrs. Youngblood was expecting triplets. Why is there only one child?” he pondered.

Meanwhile, Jonathan pressed down on the accelerator, racing swiftly toward the address provided by Kurt. At this point, even if it was a trap orchestrated by Kurt, he was willing to take the risk. Nothing mattered to him anymore, as he was desperate to reunite with Rosalie. He only wished to see her as soon as possible. Carlos and the bodyguards had to drive behind Jonathan’s car.

Throughout the journey, Carlos silently offered prayers, hoping that even if only one of the triplets had survived, it would be fine as long as Rosalie survived.

However, upon reaching the given address and discovering Kurt standing there, holding an urn, Carlos’s heart plummeted, and he couldn’t bear to contemplate the grim possibility. Turning his head, he gazed nervously at Jonathan.

At that moment, Jonathan’s body appeared frozen in place. He gazed motionlessly at the urn in Kurt’s hands with red, swollen eyes, his gaze nearly piercing a hole through it.

After a long time, Jonathan finally managed to utter, “Where is Rosie?”

“What do you mean? She’s right in front of you,” Kurt responded.

It was as if Jonathan hadn’t registered Kurt’s response. He just asked again in a harsh voice, “Where is Rosie?”

Kurt suddenly let out a cold chuckle. “Do you honestly believe that a pregnant. woman could survive after falling from that height into the sea? The fact that one of the babies survived is a stroke of luck in itself.”

His words, while logical, appeared to be a trigger for Jonathan, who made a lunge

at Kurt.

However, Kurt swiftly placed the urn before him as a barrier and remarked, “If you don’t mind Rosalie’s ashes being scattered on the ground, you’re welcome to try and strike me.”

Jonathan’s clenched fist hesitated. His whole body trembled as he reached for the urn, cradling it tightly.

“How could she become ashes?” he thought.

In the past, he had held his father’s ashes, believing it to be the most excruciating experience of his life.

Yet now, as he held Rosalie’s ashes, he discovered that life could still inflict even more excruciating moments upon him.

“How could Rosalie have turned into these ashes? Her voice and smile were still so vivid in my mind!” Jonathan pondered.

Rosalie used to say, “Jon, I love you!”

Rosalie would also say, “Jon, I want to give you a happy family-a happy home with me, you, and our children.”
