Chapter 769
Since the restaurant still had to operate as usual, the police arrived and took the Sabatini mother-daughter duo and Rosalie to the patrol car.
Agyness was utterly stunned when she heard Rosalie reveal her name to the police.
Agyness could not believe her ears when she learned that the woman’s name was Rosalie Leighton.
That was the name of Jonathan’s deceased wife!
However, Agyness did not associate Rosalie with Jonathan’s wife because everyone in Strico knew that Jonathan’s wife had died five years ago.
At that moment, Agyness could not help but find this “Rosalie” utterly ridiculous. Agyness thought, “How dare she associate herself with Jonathan, especially by encouraging her daughter to call Jonathan ‘Daddy’?! This is utterly atrocious!” Only certain individuals were qualified to acknowledge Jonathan as their father. In the future, only Guillermo, the eldest son of the Youngblood family, and Wrenna were qualified to address Jonathan as “Daddy.”
At that moment, Jennifer was still concerned about the torn half of the photo that featured Jonathan.
“All right, cheer up. Mommy will take you to Daddy today. You can take pictures of Daddy with your camera when you see him later,” Rosalie said.
After considering her words and finding them sensible, Jennifer no longer felt dejected.
“Hey, he’s my Daddy, not yours! And Daddy doesn’t like being photographed!” Wrenna exclaimed in disdain.
Jennifer was not ready to back down. She let out a snort and responded, “Mommy said Daddy would like me very much because I look like Mommy. Daddy loves my mommy the most!”
Lillian approached Rosalie and whispered, “Did you really say that to Jen?”
Rosalie hummed in response, her face turning red from embarrassment. Rosalie had spoken those words to Jennifer since Jennifer had been asking Rosalie about Jonathan’s feelings toward Jennifer.
“We haven’t met in five years, and I must say, you’ve certainly changed my impression of you,” Lillian quipped.
Agyness snorted coldly. “Some things run in the family. Like mother, like daughter. I would be shocked if Mr. Youngblood falls for a woman as thick-skinned as you.”
“Can’t wait to see the shocked expression on your face later!” Lillian retorted.

“You!” Agyness found Lillian more infuriating than Rosalie.
Soon, the patrol car arrived at the police station, and they stepped out of the vehicle. Amos was already waiting at the police station’s entrance. As he saw Agyness, he hurried forward and said, “Ms. Sabatini, don’t worry. There shouldn’t be any problem with this case. I’m confident that we can…”
Before Amos could finish his words, he accidentally caught a glimpse of Rosalie who just got out of the car with Agyness. He was stunned, then called out, “Ms. Leighton?”
“Hello, Mr. Leveden, it’s been a while,” Rosalie greeted Amos with a smile. She had previously encountered Amos at a bar association event in a different province while she was with her mentor, Connor Smuckler.
Although she had lost her memory in the past five years, fragments of those recollections remained. Even if she had forgotten that she used to be an attorney, she chose to pursue a legal career once more, even passing the bar examination on her first attempt.
“Yes, it has been a while,” Amos responded, his expression shifting. He began to wonder if the person Agyness intended to sue for assault was Rosalie.
If that were the case, Amos would find his reputation tarnished. After all, Rosalie’s mentor was a renowned figure in the legal field!
This was not just because Connor had a high success rate in court, but also because he held a deep affection for Rosalie, regarding her as his most prized protege. He publicly declared in the legal community that he would no longer take on any new apprentices aside from Rosalie.
With those thoughts in mind, Amos could not help but be concerned about the situation and cast a somewhat uncomfortable glance in Rosalie’s direction. “You call yourself a lawyer? What a coward,” Agyness said, sneering. “Mr. Leveden, it’s okay if you don’t want to take this case, but this woman is interfering with Mr. Youngblood. She gave her daughter a photo of Mr. Youngblood and made her call him ‘Daddy.’ If word got out, people might think that Jonathan had an illegitimate child. This could damage the reputation of Youngblood Group and the Youngblood family!”
Agyness deliberately mentioned Jonathan’s name.
Hearing that, Amos was shocked and looked at Rosalie in surprise. He had heard that Rosalie was not married but had a daughter. Nevertheless, he was stunned to learn that Rosalie had given Jennifer a photo of Jonathan and encouraged Jennifer to call Jonathan “Daddy.”
There were so many men Rosalie could choose as a stepfather for Jennifer, but Amos did not understand why Rosalie specifically chose a photo of Jonathan. Amos wondered if Rosalie was aware of Jonathan’s influence in Strico or if Rosalie had simply chosen a random photo on the internet to stop Jennifer’s incessant questioning.

As those questions continued to occupy Amos’s thoughts, he heard Rosalie’s voice. “My daughter Jen is not an illegitimate child. She’s the legitimate daughter of the Youngblood family!” Rosalie asserted.
