The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike novel Chapter 949

Chapter 949

That was his biggest concession.

Rosalie bit her lip and asked, “What if I don’t go back with you?”

His eyes darkened, and his voice became colder. “Have you thought it through?” he asked.

“Jon, I can’t delay Mrs. Smuckler anymore. I want to send her back to Lofbury, or she will really die!” “I can’t sit idly by and not help her! I simply can’t!” she said painfully.

“So you’re still going to hurt me, aren’t you?” he murmured.

“Sorry. I’m sorry…” At that moment, that was all she could say. The next moment, as if she didn’t dare to look at him again, she turned around and quickly returned to the car and started it.

“I need to send Mrs. Smuckler back! I can’t let her die!” she thought.

“Rosalie, can we leave?” Connor asked nervously.

“Let me try.” Rosalie was not sure if they could. At the entrance in front of her, not only was Jonathan standing there, but there was also a barricade. “Can she really break through it?” she wondered.

At that moment, Jonathan just stood there and stared at Rosalie coldly through the windshield of the car. When Rosalie started the car, he was still standing still.

“Get out of the way, Jon!” Rosalie shouted inwardly.

“I will do everything possible to get his forgiveness as soon as I’ve sent Mrs. Smuckler back to Lofbury. This is the one and only time I’m going to do this! In the future, I will never betray him again!” Rosalie thought.

The car was getting closer and closer to Jonathan, and Rosalie became increasingly tense.

The subordinates beside Jonathan wanted to stand in front of the car, but they were scolded coldly by Jonathan. “No one is allowed to stand here!” he fumed.

Those subordinates dared not move at once.

Jonathan was waiting for Rosalie’s car as if he were watching how far she would go.

“Jon, get out of the way. Please…” Rosalie kept praying, but in the end, her car stopped only three feet away from him.

If she drove forward, she would definitely hit him.

Can I really not take Mrs. Smuckler away? Rosalie wondered as she stared at the man outside the window in a daze. At that moment, he was still standing perfectly still while he glanced back at her.

At that point, her face was already full of tears.

“What should I do to get him out of the way so that I can send Mrs. Smuckler back to Lofbury?” she wondered.

Connor seemed disappointed at that moment. “Rosalie, I think we can’t go back to Lofbury anymore!” Rosalie didn’t seem to hear it. At that moment, she just looked straight at Jonathan, who was standing in front of the car.

Tears almost blurred her vision. Her hands were holding the steering wheel tightly, and there seemed to be only her and him in the whole world.

His eyes were so cold, like a frozen sword that stung her heart.

If possible, she hoped that she would never hurt him or violate her vows.

“Can I really not leave today? Is it impossible?” she wondered.

Just when she thought she was destined to stay put, suddenly, she saw his footsteps lift up as he walked

aside.

“Is he leaving?” Rosalie thought. She was surprised. Afterward, she watched his subordinates remove the barricade. Just like that, her way to Lofbury became unhindered.

Her eyes were full of disbelief, and then she slowly turned her head to look at Jonathan, who was standing on the side.

There was no expression on his face. Even when he looked at her, there seemed to be no emotion. Rosalie felt a pain in her heart and said silently, “Jon, I’m sorry!”

She stepped on the accelerator, and the car rushed onto the highway.

Jonathan looked coldly at the car that was leaving. After a long time, he slowly lifted one hand and pressed it against his heart.

“It hurts so much! Is this what it feels like to get betrayed by the person I love the most? My mother betrayed my father back then, and now I got betrayed by Rosie!” he thought.

Rosalie numbly drove to Lofbury, but all the way, Jonathan’s last look at her would always appear in her mind. His cold gaze seemed to have hurt her dearly.

“Jon, this will be the only time! It won’t happen again!” she yelled inwardly.

The car finally stopped at the hospital in Lofbury. Only then did Rosalie realize that she was crying again. She wiped away tears and helped Kaylie into the emergency room with Connor.
