Chapter 950
“Mr. Youngblood has been in the memorial hall for several hours and hasn’t come out.” Gary asked worriedly, “Mrs. Youngblood, what happened between you and Mr. Youngblood?”
Rosalie didn’t know how to answer, so she hurriedly said, “I’ll go find him!” Then she ran toward the memorial hall.
Gary was about to say something when Jonathan ordered not to allow anyone into the memorial hall, but he didn’t finish his words.
“After all, when Mr. Youngblood said that, I don’t think he meant Mrs. Youngblood! And if something really happened between the two of them, Mr. Youngblood might be fine after seeing her in a while,” Gary thought optimistically.
Rosalie ran quickly into the memorial hall and saw Jonathan standing in front of his father’s photo, motionless as if he were a statue.
The soft indoor light fell on him, but there was an indescribable coldness.
“Jon…” Rosalie shouted gently, but her voice was extremely dry and hoarse. Since she left the Youngblood Residence that early morning, she hadn’t taken a sip of water until then. Even her lips were more dry than ever before.
Jonathan slowly turned around. He looked at her with his bright eyes and smiled. “You’re back.” Rosalie froze immediately. He was smiling as usual, but she felt cold, and her back was chilly.
His gaze was so cold that it seemed she was just a stranger in his eyes.
There was no love or tenderness, even resentment and hatred. It was a completely emotionless look. She opened her mouth and apologized hoarsely, “Jon, I… I know what I did today had hurt you. Sorry…” He was still smiling when he responded, “You know what? My father once told me not to fall in love with someone in my life, because when I was betrayed by the person I loved, it was like a knife stabbing into my body and shredding even my bones.”
He said word by word and walked slowly toward her. “Rosie, do you know that feeling?”
His eyes seemed to freeze all her blood, and his smile was so dazzling. She used to like his smile so much, but at that moment, she hoped that she would never see him smile like that again.
“Jon, stop smiling!” she murmured. His smile was like a punishment for her, which made her extremely uncomfortable.
“What? Didn’t you say that you liked watching me smile?” The cold voice, which used to be pleasant, had become something like a sharp needle, pricking her eardrum.
“I… I know I hurt you just this time, Jon. Just this time. Can you forgive me?” she pleaded.
“Only this time?” He chuckled. “You knew it would hurt me, but you did it anyway. Are you sure I will forgive you?”
“I…” She wanted to say something, but she found that she couldn’t defend herself.
“Rosalie, do you really think that you can hurt me like this because of my love for you?” He asked, “Do you know you’re the first person to be able to still stand upright in front of me after drugging me?” His words made her feel extremely embarrassed. “I… I admit that I did take advantage of your love for me, but I just hope that things don’t really go to an irreparable step and you won’t do those things that will make you regret it. Jon, did you think killing your own mother would make you feel she had been punished? Did you think you would be happy?”
She was suddenly pushed to the wall by him, and then he leaned down toward her. At that moment, she could feel his breath on her face.
“Why do you think I would regret it? Have you been a lawyer for so long that you think you’re the messenger of justice? How do you know that I wouldn’t be happy?” he asked with a sneer.
She froze when she heard that.
He sounded extremely cold when he uttered, “When you drugged me, did you know how I felt about eating the vegetable beef soup you cooked? Do you know how I wish you had never been at the highway

intersection? Rosie, I gave you a chance again and again, but in the end, you still drove toward me. When I made way, I said to myself that from then on, I would never be the one who loved the other person more.”
Her heart skipped a beat, and she stared at him with widened eyes. “What did you say? What do you mean?”
His eyes fixed on her, and his dark pupils were filled with her face. “Father was right. The person who loves first and the one who loves deeper will always be a loser. Well, I don’t want to be a loser anymore.” “Jon, you’re not a loser. I love you the same way. I really love you!” Rosalie was panicking.
On the other hand, he just looked at her calmly and said, “Rosie, as I said, anyone in this world can betray me, but you are the only one who can’t. If you betray me, I will not forgive you!”
