Chapter 957
Jonathan suddenly opened his eyes and pinned Rosalie down on the bed. “If you really love me so much, then why, back then, would you rather have fallen into the sea than forgive me? Yes, back then, I coldly stood by and watched your case, and I have regretted it countless times. After you discovered the truth, I begged for your forgiveness repeatedly, but you still chose death over being with me! If it weren’t for the children, would you really have come back to me now? Rosalie, do you truly love me?”
His dark, alluring eyes bore into her intensely as he finally voiced the words he had kept buried deep within his heart.
In fact, what pained Jonathan most wasn’t Rosalie’s assistance to Kaylie, but the doubt that her love for him might be absent.
All of her affectionate gestures might merely be her way of providing a stable home for their children.
Rosalie was left dumbfounded, unable to react immediately. “W-What is he saying? I’d rather fall into the sea than forgive him. What’s happening? I distinctly remember falling into the sea while carrying our three children just to prevent him from sacrificing himself to save me!” she thought.
“Jon… um, is there some kind of misunderstanding? It’s not how it happened at all. Who told you that I fell into the sea because I didn’t want to forgive you?” Seeing Jonathan about to leave, Rosalie hastily held him back, seeking clarity.
“No one had to tell me. It’s my own experience. Don’t I know it?” Jonathan retorted.
“But you had amnesia back then!”
“When Dr. Giuseppe hypnotized me, I had already regained my memory. Rosie, I remember every detail of what happened back then! So, stop claiming you love me because you obviously don’t! That’s why you so willingly chose to help that woman!”
Having spoken these words, Jonathan got up, shrugged off Rosalie’s grasp, draped himself with a piece of clothing, and quickly exited the room.
Rosalie stared at the empty room, still unable to come to her senses.
“What does he mean by remembering every detail? The problem is the reality is nothing like what he’s saying! What on earth is going on? What’s happening with his memory?” she pondered.
Rosalie was engulfed by confusion, her mind swarmed with questions.
Jonathan had not made it clear whether he forgave Rosalie, and she had no idea where in the vast manor he might be.
After all, the manor was quite large, with numerous corridors, and for someone like her who was unfamiliar with its layout, it was easy to become disoriented while wandering.
Nevertheless, Rosalie didn’t leave. After a bit of searching, she eventually found Carlos in the manor. “Jon has regained his memory, did you know that?”
“What?” Carlos was surprised to hear that.
“But his memory seems a bit off. He mentioned remembering me falling into the sea to escape him. He believed I refused to forgive him, and that’s why I chose to fall into the sea to leave him,” Rosalie added.
Carlos was baffled. “How could that be?
“He mentioned that it was during the hypnosis session with Dr. Giuseppe that he had already recovered his memory. Is there… something amiss with Dr. Giuseppe?” Rosalie asked, her initial suspicion pointing toward Giuseppe potentially tampering with Jonathan’s memory during the hypnosis session.
“I’ll go check, Carlos immediately said. Just as he was about to leave to investigate the matter, Rosalie stopped him.
“Do you know where Jon is right now?”

Carlos hesitated for a moment and replied to Rosalie, “Mrs. Youngblood, I believe Mr. Youngblood is still deeply upset. Plus, considering the memory issue you brought up, why don’t you give Mr. Youngblood a few days to calm down a bit before you attempt to speak with Mr. Youngblood again?”
“Just tell me, where is he?” Rosalie insisted. In other words, she had no intention of leaving without finding him.
“Mr. Youngblood is quite furious this time. That day, after you drove away to the highway, Mr. Youngblood was so enraged that he actually coughed up blood,” Carlos said.
Rosalie was shocked. “What did you say? He coughed up blood?”
“Yes, he did. It was a sudden burst of blood, and it even splattered onto my clothes. At that moment, Mr. Youngblood stared at the back of your car, and his eyes held a kind of despair that I had never witnessed before,” Carlos explained.
Rosalie’s nose tingled, and her eyes welled up. She had no idea about any of this. Even today, when she finally saw Jonathan, he hadn’t mentioned it to her.
“What happened afterward? Did you take him to the hospital for a check-up? Is he okay?” Rosalie asked, filled with concern.
“He’s fine. The doctor said it was due to pent-up emotions and advised Mr. Youngblood to get some rest.” Carlos sighed. “After you fell into the sea, Mr. Youngblood was nearly driven to madness with concern for you. When you eventually came back. I thought you and Mr. Youngblood could find happiness, but I never foresaw that things would take this turn.”
At this moment, Carlos was not just saying these words as a subordinate of Jonathan. He was speaking those words as a friend.
“I know. It’s my fault for hurting him while trying to protect Mrs. Smuckler,” Rosalie admitted, shouldering the blame.
