Dorothy always had mixed feelings about this particular aspect of their marriage. It wasn't that she enjoyed rifling through Everett's pockets out of suspicion or distrust. Rather, she was concerned about accidentally washing and losing any valuable items he might have forgotten in there.

After neatly pressing his suit and ensuring everything was in order, she slipped the receipt she found back into the pocket of the trousers he planned to wear the next day. Smiling with satisfaction, she hung the suit in the closet.

Dorothy nodded sheepishly. "I didn't expect there to be so many intricacies. On paper, their taxes were all clear! If it's not manageable, I was thinking of taking a business trip at the end of the month."
