She jumped up and dashed to the bathroom.
Miles quickly followed, concerned. "Hey, are you okay? Feeling sick?"
“Ugh…”
Felicity waved him off, not even able to get the words out before she was hunched over the toilet, losing whatever little she'd eaten earlier.
Seeing her in such distress, Miles poured a glass of water and handed it to her with worry etched on his face. "Maybe we should see a doctor? I can have the driver swing by and pick us up."
"No, no need." Felicity shook her head, feeling slightly better after emptying her stomach. She looked up at him. "I'm fine, probably just indulged a bit too much yesterday."
"Still, we should get it checked out! I won't be at ease until a doctor says you're okay."
"Oh, come on!" Felicity looked up, meeting Miles' deep, concerned eyes. She managed a smile. "I’m not made of glass, you know. No need to panic."
Miles fell silent, gently lifting her from the bathroom and settling her onto the master bed, his brow still furrowed in worry.
He stood by the bed, refusing to budge.
Felicity sighed in resignation.
She knew Miles well enough by now. Unless she agreed to see a doctor, he wouldn’t be able to focus on anything else, not even his work!
Reluctantly, she conceded, "Alright, alright. We'll go to the hospital, okay? Once the doctor tells you I'm fine, you can stop worrying!"
"Deal." He nodded.
"Okay then, let me change, and we’ll head out."
...
On the way, Felicity still felt a bit queasy.
But she was mentally prepared, so she managed to keep it under wraps.
"Yep, see you this afternoon!"
After hanging up, Miles glanced over from the driver's seat, concern still evident in his eyes. "You’re not feeling well today. Maybe you should skip the trip? I can talk to Abigail."
"No way! I've already said yes! Besides, it’s just a drive; I’ll be fine sitting in the car."
"Ever since that flu last year, your health’s been iffy. You catch colds every time the seasons change. I’m worried you’ll get worse over there."
Felicity waved him off. "Nah, I’m feeling good, really! Nothing to worry about."
"How about I tag along with you and Abigail this afternoon, then drive you both back to Eldorria City in the evening?"
That would ease his mind a bit.
"No need! You've got loads of work. Focus on that!" Felicity tilted her head with a teasing smile. "Otherwise, when will you ever get a vacation so we can plan our wedding?"
