The wind at the highway exit was fierce, making Craig's oversized T-shirt flap wildly in the breeze.
Aurora's long hair fell upon his shirt, merging and parting with the gusts.
After a while, he spoke up in a deep tone.
"Yeah, I've made up my mind."
Craig didn't hesitate any longer, climbing straight into the truck and slamming the door shut.
This time, Aurora didn't try to stop him.
But after pausing for a few seconds, she shouted at the vanishing vehicle, "Fine! Then it's over! I swear I won't come looking for you again! Within a month, I'll be married off, and we'll be done for good!"
No one responded to her, and Craig's vehicle drove away.
Aurora collapsed to the ground as if drained of all strength, prompting Felicity to rush to her aid, "Abigail! Are you alright?"
"I'm fine. Don't worry about me."
"What are you waiting for? Help Abigail into the car!" Felicity looked up at Miles.
"..."
Since when did he start taking orders from this young lady?
...
In the hospital, Aurora slept on the bed, an IV drip attached to the back of her hand.
The doctor glanced at the lab results and spoke softly, "Don't worry, it's nothing serious! It's just a bit of low blood sugar due to not eating properly."
"That's a relief! When can Abigail wake up?"
"Well, it's up to her! But letting the patient rest is always a good thing."
Felicity nodded, offering the doctor a polite smile, "Thank you, doctor."
That's his twin sister; how could he stand to see her in tears?
"Tch! This guy's tough to deal with?" Felicity frowned, her mind racing, "How about this, I'll reach out to Bobby again, see if he can get that medication... once the deed is done, maybe Craig won't want to break up anymore!"
"..."
Miles was at a loss for words, his expression hardening as he glanced at her, "You don't have any other ideas?"
"Ahaha! I'm just trying to help Abigail out..."
She blurted out without thinking, forgetting she had a "victim" right beside her.
"I had the hospital take care of Craig's mom before, but he caught on and transferred her out."
He was indeed a tough nut to crack!
Surely he couldn't just force the man to marry his sister, right?
