Aurora raced to the hospital, heading straight for the room where Craig's mom was staying.
It was empty.
Her legs felt weak, but she forced herself to sprint towards the emergency room.
Sure enough, in front of those large doors, she spotted Craig standing alone.
He was slightly hunched, his gaze fixed on the door, seemingly oblivious to the footsteps behind him.
Aurora couldn't deny the pang in her heart.
Angry as she was, the sight of his forlorn silhouette weighed heavily on her.
"Craig…"
"…"
He stiffened for a moment before slowly turning around.
It was the same rugged, deep-set face, with furrowed brows and drooping eyelashes, revealing a faint trace of double eyelids.
"Why are you here?"
"How could I not come when your mom's in trouble?" Aurora glanced at the emergency room's glowing red light. "Is it happening again?"
"Yeah." Craig stepped back, putting distance between them. "But you don't need to intervene. You should leave."
That comment infuriated Aurora.
She stormed forward and stomped on Craig's foot!
"I didn't want to argue with you, especially not now! But if you're going to be aggressive, then don't blame me!"
Aurora reached out, flipping up his faded T-shirt—
A ghastly scar was revealed on his chest, both fierce and terrifying.
"You're always so keen on settling accounts, right? You insist on repaying me for every little thing I buy you. Well, then, how about the life you saved? Let's settle that today too!"
"…"
"Speak up! How do you want me to repay you?"
Using his height to his advantage, Craig easily pulled his shirt back down, covering the scar neatly.
"Stop it."
"You transferring money to me isn't 'making a fuss,' but me wanting to settle our debts is?"
"…" Unable to argue, Craig habitually pressed his lips together in silence.
"Fine, you're not keeping me? Then I'm really gone."
Saying this, she turned to leave with her phone in hand!
With no other choice, Craig reached out to stop her.
"If you want this money, wait till after the Zen Ville event is over. I'll give it to you then."
"I want it now!"
"…"
Their eyes locked, and then, unexpectedly, Aurora reached into his shorts pocket.
And pulled out a few pieces of toffee.
It was her favorite kind.
"Craig, if we're breaking up, why didn't you throw these candies away?"
"I forgot."
"You still love me, don't you?"
Faced with Aurora's questioning, he looked away, forcing a smile, "It's not as good as Franceland chocolate."
