The curiosity about Craig had been a buzzing topic at home for more than just a day or two.
But Aurora always kept them from seeing.
Suddenly, the emergency room's red light went out.
A doctor emerged, "Who is the patient's family?"
Craig stepped forward without hesitation, "That's me. How's my mom?"
"Luckily, Dr. Yost from Heal-Unity Hospital arrived in time. The surgery was a success. Your mother is now waiting to wake up. You can rest easy."
Hearing this, both Craig and Aurora breathed a sigh of relief.
"However..." the doctor continued with a shift in tone, looking at him, "you're aware of your mother's condition! She's been hanging on by a thread, and even though this surgery was successful, the next time..."
"I understand."
How could Craig not be aware of his mother's condition?
The doctor nodded, "As long as you're prepared."
Aurora came over and took Craig's hand, "She knows you did everything you could. She won't blame you."
He remained silent.
Hiding his emotions had almost become an instinct.
Aurora knew Craig all too well and wrapped her arms around him.
"You've got me besides your mom. I'm here for life, my love. All my sweets are with you, okay?"
He managed a small, resigned smile, "Yeah."

Catching her daughter at home, Karen was itching to start interrogating.
But with Langston still there, she figured she'd maintain at least a semblance of decorum as the elder.
"Langston! Thanks for bringing Felicity back. Since she returned home, you must have been put out quite a bit, huh? Even had to help Aunt Karen look after her."
But then again—
Langston had a girlfriend, right?
Hadn’t he just gone to the Bay Residence to meet her parents?
Karen’s mind raced, turning her gaze to Miles, "So, Langston, how are things going with your girlfriend? Planning on getting married soon?"
That question hit a nerve!
Before Miles could even respond, Felicity stood up from the couch, "Mom, I'm not feeling well. I'm going to sleep, you guys chat."
She was out the door in a flash, but Miles was quick to grab her wrist.
"Don't be mad!"
Mad?
Karen raised an eyebrow, "Felicity, what's there to be mad about with Langston?"
