After leaving the boutique, Felicity hailed a taxi and asked the driver to drop her off at a nearby park.

She powered off her phone and sat alone on a bench.

She watched as people passed by - children playing, elderly couples strolling, and young lovers laughing hand in hand.

Suddenly, Felicity found herself missing her days in Anglonia.

Even though she was far from her parents, she had a wealth of friends there, including Calvin and many colleagues, not to mention a mentor at work who looked after her.

"Awake. What's up?"

"Nothing much, just... remember the other day when I asked you to submit my resignation and to cancel my lease? Hold off on that for now."

No more than ten seconds passed before Calvin sent a voice call request.

"What's going on?"

"Nothing's wrong," Felicity replied, somewhat surprised to find herself not crying despite feeling a bit teary-eyed. "I’m just playing it cool."

"So, you're staying in the country, not quitting your job, and keeping the apartment?" Calvin smacked his lips. "What, can't stand the thought of losing our roomie days, wanting to keep the good times rolling?"

Felicity was feeling down, but his teasing made her roll her eyes. "If narcissism had a face, you’d be it. Claiming second place would be too modest for you."

"No." There truly hadn't been any quarrel.

"Oh."

"Why do you sound disappointed?"

Calvin burst out laughing on the other end. "Of course, I'm disappointed! I thought if things didn’t work out between you two, I’d have my chance!"

"..."

"Don't worry, I got your message loud and clear! Lucky you caught me when you did, or I might have agreed to a new roommate—a real looker, actually, who wanted to move in."

Felicity paused, "Wait, no! Let her move in if she wants. When I get back, I'll just find—"

She couldn't very well mess with Calvin's potential love life!

"Find what, find? Just come back and stay! I'll wait for you."
