The CEO's Hidden Love: Midnight Temptations and Deep Desires novel Chapter 1604

Felicity was almost grateful for the debacle with Esther. It meant she hadn't actually gone through with marrying him.

Otherwise, if she suddenly wanted a divorce, that would have been a whole mess of trouble!

Right now, they were just dating. There were a million reasons to break up, and the worst that could happen... he'd just be heartbroken for a while.

Time would pass, she wouldn't return to her home country, and eventually, Langston would forget all about her.

...

When Calvin got home from work, he found himself instinctively glancing at Felicity's room door, even though he knew she hadn't come back.

Alone, he changed clothes, made himself a cup of coffee, and sat down, planning to finish up some work from the day.

Before he could even open his laptop, his phone rang!

Calvin glanced over, his eyebrows knitting together.

It wasn't the person he was hoping for...

"Dad."

"Your mom wants to talk to you!" Anthony Hoffman said, then handed the phone to his wife.

"Hello? Calvin! It's Mommy!"

"..." Calvin sighed, massaging his temples, "Mom, I'm in my twenties now. It really doesn't suit me to call you 'Mommy' anymore. How sissy does that sound?"

Thank goodness no one was around to hear that. Where would his dignity be?

Camila wasn't upset; she even chuckled, "My son is a real man! Who would dare call you sissy?"

"..." Calvin replied dryly, "Can we just get to the point?"

"Ha! It's about that young lady you brought over last time, the one who had a fever and you asked your dad to help find a doctor for!"

Felicity?

Calvin's interest was piqued at the mention of her name, "Yeah?"

He hadn't taken any other girl to the hospital, nor had he ever asked his father for such a favor for anyone else. It had to be Felicity.

"Is that so? I thought since my son was so concerned about this lady, you must be serious about each other."

After all, since leaving home to live on his own, it was the first time he had asked his father for such a favor, all for this girl.

"Ugh." Calvin sighed, "She didn't fall for me. I tried, but it didn't work out."

Camila couldn't help but laugh heartily, "Then keep trying! Don't give up, son!"

"I would, but she's already got someone else on her mind."

"Oh… then let it go, sweetie. Don't be the other man."

Calvin frowned, "Mom, where do you get these phrases from?"

The other man, really?

"Learned them from my phone!"

"I'm not going to banter with you. Let's talk seriously! Can you ask Dad to check if there's really no cure for Felicity's condition?"
