The CEO's Hidden Love: Midnight Temptations and Deep Desires novel Chapter 1624

Wedding?

It suddenly dawned on Felicity that, yes, she had heard something about it.

Langston had mentioned it in passing, but at the time, she was too focused on getting him to head back to the States, paying little attention.

"When is it?"

"Next month. Shall I text you the details?"

She chuckled, "Just the date is fine. I won't be making it back! I'll take a few days off to Paris, get her some wedding gifts, and ship them over!"

Upon hearing her daughter wouldn't return, Karen couldn't help but interject, "Why don't you come back for it? I mean, marriage is such a milestone. If you miss it, it'll really upset Abigail. She's always had your back since you were kids, even shared her candy with you!"

"Mom, it's not that I don't want to..."

"I get it! You're worried about running into Langston, aren't you? Your father and I checked; since his surgery, he's been back at work, not prying into your life one bit. Seems like he's moved on."

Felicity hesitated still.

It hadn't been long since their split, and a reunion felt awkward.

"I'll think about it."

"That's fair. I'm not trying to pressure you. It's just that Abigail's wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime event. Skipping it because of Langston doesn't sit right with me."

If there were insurmountable issues, that would be one thing. But avoiding it just to dodge someone seemed unreasonable.

Felicity understood this.

Both Abigail and Langston had been nothing but kind to her. Apart from the complications, the affection was undeniable.

"I'll let you know tonight. Just checked into the hotel and I'm beat. Gonna catch some sleep first."

"Alright, then. Rest up. We'll talk later."

After hanging up, Felicity noticed a message from Calvin.

"How's the trip? Went off the grid, I see."

She smirked, selecting a few photos to send, "Gorgeous beyond words!"

Back home, she was always surrounded by family and friends. In Anglonia, she had classmates and Calvin, the human megaphone, ensuring it was never quiet around her.

Now, suddenly on her own, she felt a tangible sense of solitude.

Taking a deep breath, Felicity changed and decided to leave the hotel to explore Brusylon's local culture.

Though it was just a layover, since she was here, she might as well.

Just as she reached the hotel lobby, bending down to switch her translator to Dutch, she heard someone call out her name!

In such a place! Who could possibly know her?

Instinctively, Felicity turned towards the voice—

"Can't believe it's really you! I hesitated to approach at first!"

"..."

It was that guy from the plane, what was his name again? She had forgotten.
