He folded himself back into the car and grabbed his laptop.
After typing in a string of code, the screen began to display a progress bar...
From 1 to 100, and then Miles clicked to open the video, "All set."
"Really? There's sound now!"
The officers couldn't help but be amazed. This was sheer magic!
They watched the surveillance video again, listening to the conversation between two men. All Miles could say was—
Craig getting a slap was letting him off easy!
But still...
"No matter how much you're provoked, you can't resort to violence! You should try to negotiate a settlement."
"Alright."
Miles stepped outside, immediately heading back to Felicity's side, "Sit tight a little longer. I'm going to check on how things are going with Abigail."
"Sure! Don't worry about me, I'm fine. Go ahead."
...
Duncan was adamant.
He didn't want money, just justice by the law.
Even faced with Aurora, he didn't budge.
Resigned to not breaking them down, he was all about getting some satisfaction!
When Miles walked in, Duncan was covering his eyes, crying in pain, "I don't even know if this will affect my vision in the future!"
"Then let's go to the hospital. I've said it, I'll cover all the expenses."
Aurora was anxious to see Craig.
Seeing Duncan like this, she had no idea what Craig might look like. Whether he too had injuries, scratches on his face.
"I don't want your money."
"You just want Craig behind bars for assault, right?" Miles took over the conversation.
He hadn't anticipated the Lopez family valued this son-in-law so highly.
He thought...
"Wait! I'm willing to settle."
"That's more like it." Miles turned, handing over a check, "Remember, don't look down on anyone. Craig didn't cost you a dime."
"..."
Aurora secretly gave her brother a thumbs up, "Bro, thank you!"
"No need for thanks, go check on Craig." His gaze swept over Felicity sitting on the bench outside, "I'll go to her."
"Right!" Aurora nodded vigorously.
Suddenly recalling her conversation with Felicity, she added a thoughtful reminder, "Bro, I think Felicity's reluctance to marry you is hiding something."
"What could she be hiding?"
"That, I haven't figured out yet."
