"You're surprisingly content," Dorothy remarked nonchalantly, not expecting Everett's earnest response.
"Of course, I am," he replied, his voice soft and light, laced with a smile. "You can never understand what those four years without you were like for me."
The thought of having children or a future with Dorothy was something Everett didn't dare to entertain, not even for a second!
All he wished for was to catch a glimpse of Dorothy from afar, hoping she wouldn't notice him.
Yet, he feared the day he might see her with another man by her side.
Such days of inner turmoil lasted for four long years for Everett!
So, by comparison, being able to spend a lifetime with Dorothy, having sons and daughters, he felt he couldn't ask for anything more.
Perhaps his only wish was to live a little longer.
For days to go by a bit slower.
After all, no one knows for sure if there's an afterlife.
Dorothy took his face in her hands, leaning in for a kiss, "It's all in the past now, Everett."
"Yeah."
"When Claire and Langston have settled down, let's hand over the business and move to Snowfall City, shall we? I want to see the snow every year."
To see the snowscape they had missed out on that year.
Everett nodded, caressing his wife's long hair, "Alright, we'll settle in Snowfall City."

The Lopez family was celebrating a joyous occasion, which should have been the highlight of Eldorria City.
But Aurora had discussed with her parents beforehand; she didn't want too many guests, just the closest people around her.
Because... Craig's side of the family only had his mother.
The more people there were, the more apparent the absence on his side would become.
"I heard from Abigail that you refused to be her maid of honor? Why?"
Given the close relationship between Felicity and Abigail, it seemed odd for Felicity to decline.
She smiled, "It's nothing, really. I was afraid I'd mess up the wedding, and being a maid of honor is quite exhausting."
But the most important reason, Felicity wouldn't share with anyone.
She felt... as someone who was infertile, serving as Abigail's maid of honor was bad luck.
Miles, towering over her, could easily catch every expression on her face.
His instincts told him something was off with Felicity.
It was after his sister pointed it out that he began to observe Felicity's micro-expressions more deliberately. And... he always found expressions that didn't quite match her usual demeanor.
The Felicity he knew wasn't like this.

Why didn't Jeffrey call Everett from the office? Lock his door instruct security to not let anyone in and speak to Everett on the phone? Or send him a text giving him a quick summary of what's up and that he's on his way over. That way when he runs into Heather on his way out he informs her Everett already knows....
