"Do I need to get my folks on the phone right now, to prove it to you?"
"..."
Miles stared at Calvin, holding back his frustration as best as he could, before finally deciding to engage in as calm a conversation as possible.
"Look, you and Felicity, it's a dead end. But, I know you've been there for her all this time in Anglonia, so whether I'm her boyfriend or her brother, I owe you a thanks." He was rational, not wanting to escalate tensions with Calvin and make things awkward for Felicity.
"Besides Felicity, name your price. As long as it's reasonable, I'll consider it."
Even though they were rivals for Felicity's affection, Miles still preferred a logical approach to solving problems.
But clearly, Calvin wasn't as level-headed!
"And what makes you think there's no chance for me and Felicity? She agreed to get back with you? She said she'd marry you?"
"Not yet."
"Then you really shouldn't act like you're doing me any favors! We're still in competition!"
Miles couldn't help but smile, a thin smirk on his lips, "You're really not in my league."
It was a play on words.
Seeing Calvin's childishness and his penchant for verbal sparring only reassured him.
Miles knew Felicity well enough; she'd only be friends with someone like Calvin because they clicked and shared similar personalities. But when it came to choosing a life partner, she wouldn't pick him.
"You're just riding on the coattails of the Lopez Corporation. Without the Lopez Corporation, and without being the big shot heir of the Lopez family, what are you?"
"Calvin, before you say that, you might want to think about what you have to bring to the table."
"..."
"You don't even have the backing of the Lopez Corporation."
He was indeed the heir of the Lopez family, and Miles didn't see that as a flaw or something shameful.
And with his father, Everett, gradually stepping back from company affairs, the corporation was essentially under his control now.
In this moment, Calvin's last ace was to bet on the fact—
That Miles, as the sole heir to the Lopez Corporation, wouldn't dare to have a vasectomy himself.
"When did you get the vasectomy?"
Clearly, Miles was focused on a different aspect than Calvin expected.
"...Why does that matter?"
"Just answer me."
"During the time Felicity went back to Anglonia for her friend Abigail's wedding."
"..."
That explained a lot.
Felicity was adamant about returning to Anglonia that day without stating her reasons.
