Aurora thought she knew this place better, having been here a few times before. It was familiar territory.
Felicity, on the other hand, was like a kid in a candy store. She was full of energy and excitement, but dragging her along on serious errands could be a bit of a hassle.
"I’m not as delicate as Langston makes me out to be!" Felicity protested, a hint of annoyance in her voice. "He treats me like I’m still a child."
But just as she finished her sentence, a wave of nausea hit her, and she instinctively covered her mouth, looking around for the nearest restroom.
Aurora noticed immediately and rushed after her. "Felicity, are you okay? You don’t look so good."
"Yeah," Felicity mumbled after a moment in the bathroom, hugging the toilet bowl. "I'm fine. Your brother took me to the doctor already. They said it was something I ate, maybe indigestion or I just ate something that didn’t sit right."
"Well, take care of yourself," Aurora advised. Watching Felicity, she couldn’t help but flash back to her own morning sickness during pregnancy.
But everyone in the Lopez family knew about Felicity’s situation. Pregnancy was nearly impossible for her, so Aurora didn’t voice her thoughts. Asking would be pointless and might even bring up painful memories.
The whole Lopez family avoided the topic of children around Felicity, hoping to spare her any emotional distress.
They had just settled down, and Miles watched over Felicity like she was the most precious thing in the world, afraid something might hurt her. Who would want to bring up anything upsetting now?
"I have a small rest area here," Aurora suggested. "You can lie down for a bit. I’ll be quick and then we’ll head back to Eldorria City together." She paused, considering. "Or maybe…I should call my brother? Have him come and take you home to rest."
Felicity waved her hand dismissively. "No, don’t call him! Langston is swamped with work lately, and he still makes sure to be home with me every day. I don’t want to be a burden."
Though she could be a bit headstrong, Felicity was considerate. Deep down, she felt guilty for not being able to give the Lopez family a child, especially Langston. She tried her best to be understanding and supportive.
"Alright then, just wait here for me. I’ll be back as soon as I can."
"Okay."
