Thank goodness I haven't ticked off the boss's favorite Dorothy!
He went straight to the legal department and repeated Mr. Lopez's message.
Everyone's shocked faces were definitely no less than Kevin's when he first heard it.
"Mr. Lopez said he's considering disbanding the entire legal department of the Lopez Corporation HQ?! Kevin, you sure you heard that right?"
This decision was a big deal!
Each branch of the Lopez Corporation had its own legal department and had never outsourced to a law firm before.
Was he really going to break that rule just for Dorothy?
Kevin cleared his throat and spoke in a severe tone, "Now, you all should understand Mr. Lopez's meaning, right? While working at the Lopez Corporation, just focus on your own stuff. No need to overthink."
"We got it! Mr. Lopez can rest assured."
"Mm."
As soon as Kevin turned to leave the legal department after completing his task, he saw Heather standing there, who had apparently arrived at some point!
He wondered if she'd heard what he'd just said.
Kevin felt a bit awkward and managed a stiff smile, "Ms. Heather."
"I came back to grab some things I left behind when I quit," Heather said, not giving Kevin a hard time and just nodding slightly.
"Oh, then I'd better get back to work."
As Kevin was about to walk past Heather, she suddenly stepped to the side, blocking his way.
Kevin paused, "Is there something you need, Ms. Heather?"
Those words were pointed at Heather.
Who didn't know? The legal department was hesitant to work, afraid of retaliation if Heather returned!
Her subordinates felt that with Heather's relationship with the Lopez family, her quitting was just a joke, so who would have dared to replace her as the chief lawyer?
Heather had anticipated that and intentionally resigned, then posted some ambiguous tweet about Dorothy, positioning herself as a victim to put pressure on Everett through public opinion and the company.
Even Kevin saw through the trick, let alone Everett.
"Kevin, no matter how many years you've been by Everett's side, don't forget that you're just a secretary," Heather said coldly, "Sooner or later, there will be a Lady Boss in the Lopez family, get it?"
He got it for sure! How could he have not gotten it?
Kevin gave a very standard smile, "Indeed, Mr. Lopez even asked me to help Ms. Sanchez more."

Why didn't Jeffrey call Everett from the office? Lock his door instruct security to not let anyone in and speak to Everett on the phone? Or send him a text giving him a quick summary of what's up and that he's on his way over. That way when he runs into Heather on his way out he informs her Everett already knows....
