Before Dorothy could ask, a piercing pain shot through her skull, contorting her pretty features into a grimace.

Seeing her agony, the doctor rushed to provide her with some pain relief.

Minutes later, the young nurse, who had previously left, hurried back into the room. "That gentleman said he knows now."

"He's not coming over?"

"No, he's already left."

As Dorothy listened to the exchange between the nurse and doctor, there was a strange feeling in her gut. But before she could say anything, a wave of nausea hit her again.

When she woke up again, she was already in a regular hospital room.

Dorothy felt dizzy, but the pain had lessened. She guessed the painkillers were still working their magic.

"I'm okay."

Austin, who had been about to express his gratitude to Dorothy for her selfless help, was cut off as she spoke first. "With this incident, our resort project should be unobstructed now. George has been arrested, right?"

Lane didn't know whether to be exasperated or to commend her dedication at that point.

"You're in this state, and you're still thinking about the project? If they had seriously hurt you today, those thugs would have seen hell!"
