Jeffrey nodded. His eyes were still blurry from his hangover, and it was accompanied by a mild headache.
Lane watched him shuffle into the bathroom to freshen up; all the while, his gaze flickered to Jeffrey’s cell phone lying on the table.
There were several missed calls from Heather.
Speaking of Heather, Lane knew her well. She had made quite a name for herself in the business world. She also fought tooth and nail for the Lopez Corporation.
He also knew about Heather’s fondness for Everett.
Lane hesitated for a moment, then went over to Jeffrey’s contact list, found Heather’s number, and made a note of it.
“I’m planning on leaving tomorrow. I’ve already booked my flight.” Jeffrey suddenly emerged from the bathroom while toweling off his face.
Lane was taken aback, but luckily Jeffrey didn’t notice him fiddling with his phone.
“You’re not staying a bit longer?”
“Nah, there’s a lot going on at the company. Everett, that workaholic freak, took on a few big projects, and there are some overseas inspections. I need to get back to help."
Lane raised an eyebrow. "He's going abroad too?"
"I don't know, but Kevin and him went off to some place." Jeffrey paused and looked at Lane. "What about you? Aren't you leaving?"
Jeffrey assumed that since Dorothy had rejected him and Lane knew about Dorothy and Everett, he would give up.

The readers' comments on the novel: The CEO's Hidden Love: Midnight Temptations and Deep Desires
Sometimes Karen can be such a drama queen and immature....
For some reason I am now feeling suspicious about Kevin's new girlfriend....
I really hope this Perdita person is not a new villain....
I too echoed the sentiments of pppplllleeeaaaassssseeeeee bring this drama to an end. I beg of you!...
Really please finish this book and upload the full story so it can end. It's been drugout for so long!...
The intimate scenes in this story or uncomfortable to read. They either come off as being forced, painful, or simply not enjoyable....
Okay I left a long while ago and came back. Looks like it's been updated but still not done lol. I'll maybe wait 6 months before coming back and it'll probably still be going on. It's like a soap opera instead of a novel...
Kenneth is confirming something I've been thinking about him for several hundred chapters ago and that is he is a future murder suicide perpetrator. And after reading chapter 1275 yeah it's just brought the thought back....
How could Jeffrey throw the knife down at the scene of the crime with both their fingerprints on there?...
Again no update, so is this where it ends? Or post the whole book. Your dragging this out...
