"Don't be so guarded around me, will you? I'm not a venomous creature. What harm could I possibly do?" Lane sounded very hurt.

He was genuinely trying to pursue a romantic relationship with this lady.

But he sure could make things difficult for her.

"Didn’t we make a deal? I chase, and you just give me a chance. That means I should at least be able to show myself off a bit, right?" Lane was also feeling a bit frustrated with her attitude.

"So how did you end up at East Star Enterprises? Most people here usually go to Eldorria City to make a living. Didn't you consider applying to the Lopez Corporation?" Natalia, who was naive and guileless, didn't realize that Dorothy froze for a moment when she mentioned the Lopez Corporation.

"I never had the opportunity."

"With your work capability, not going to the Lopez Corporation is their loss! You have no idea but while you were away on business in Everglow City, several headhunters were asking for your contact info. Some even called me."

"Let's eat. We'll talk about work later when we get back. Don't shortchange yourself on this business trip. The company will cover all expenses." Dorothy continued trying to help Emmett relax.
