Dorothy had no doubt in her mind about Everett's sincerity. Unfortunately, the real culprits behind all this mess were his parents, not Heather.
"I said I wanted to see him alone."
She had decided not to lean on Everett for support.
"Alright... I'll wait outside for you."
Everett stepped back, watched her enter the building, then turned to lean against his car. He pulled out a cigarette from its pack, placed it between his lips, and lit it.
His phone buzzed with a stream of work emails.
Most of them were urgent, but Everett couldn't possibly leave now!
[Meeting postponed. You need to get the documents stamped. Tell them you have my approval.]
[Understood, Mr. Lopez.]
Kevin was meticulous and rarely made mistakes. Everett trusted him.
Everett got a cushion from his car and found a step to sit on. Lowering his gaze, he began to reply to the messages that needed his immediate attention.
Before long, Kevin was on the phone again.
"Mr. Lopez, are you not coming back to the office today?"
With a cigarette between his fingers, Everett took a drag. "Not sure. Proceed as if I'm not."
There was a pause on the other end before Kevin acknowledged.
"If there's something on your mind, just spit it out." Everett knew Kevin had something more to say.

The readers' comments on the novel: The CEO's Hidden Love: Midnight Temptations and Deep Desires
Sometimes Karen can be such a drama queen and immature....
For some reason I am now feeling suspicious about Kevin's new girlfriend....
I really hope this Perdita person is not a new villain....
I too echoed the sentiments of pppplllleeeaaaassssseeeeee bring this drama to an end. I beg of you!...
Really please finish this book and upload the full story so it can end. It's been drugout for so long!...
The intimate scenes in this story or uncomfortable to read. They either come off as being forced, painful, or simply not enjoyable....
Okay I left a long while ago and came back. Looks like it's been updated but still not done lol. I'll maybe wait 6 months before coming back and it'll probably still be going on. It's like a soap opera instead of a novel...
Kenneth is confirming something I've been thinking about him for several hundred chapters ago and that is he is a future murder suicide perpetrator. And after reading chapter 1275 yeah it's just brought the thought back....
How could Jeffrey throw the knife down at the scene of the crime with both their fingerprints on there?...
Again no update, so is this where it ends? Or post the whole book. Your dragging this out...
