Dorothy didn't mean to look down on the poor, but she just couldn't get her mom!

She believed that marrying a dishonest man, whether rich or poor, would have led to him cheating. If he was poor and having an affair, it would have just aggravated her even more.

Dorothy's tone was full of frustration.

Work pressure was already enough, and her mom had to add another burden on her.

After hanging up, Dorothy leaned against the wall and let out a long sigh.

She didn't have much time to think about those things, because the evaluation meeting for the Social Networking Service was about to start. Whether the project could be invested in depended on that step.

Collecting herself, Dorothy hurried back to the office to organize the materials.

After a busy day, the good news was that the Social Networking Service project passed the evaluation, and they decided to invest! The bad news was that Everett wanted her to visit Heather in the hospital.

Dorothy really wanted to ask Everett how many more times he had planned on making Heather jealous in front of her on purpose!

Couldn't that guy have been more flexible?

She felt like just telling Heather the truth for Everett.

But she only thought about it. After all, breaking the contract then would have been a disaster for her.

Close to getting off work, Dorothy started praying for Kevin to ask her to work overtime! Preferably all night.

Unfortunately, her prayers fell on deaf ears, and as soon as the clock struck, Everett called.

"Meet me in the underground garage."

There was a brief pause before she replied, "Okay."

"You go ahead. Don't worry about me. It's not a big deal. I'll be fine after a little rest!"

When Dorothy felt like she'd been pardoned, she let out a sigh of relief, and her mood improved all the way home.

Everett glanced at her in the rear-view mirror.

She didn't seem tired at all.

After dropping Dorothy off at Bay Residence, Everett drove to the hospital.

As soon as he entered the ward, he saw Jeffrey helping Heather to stand up.

As soon as she saw Everett, Heather instinctively pushed Jeffrey away.

"Everett, you're here!"

"Yeah." He put the fruits and supplements he'd just bought on the table.

Seeing that, Jeffrey frowned, "You two chat. I'll go get her medication."
