The plot had strayed so much from the script that it was giving Dorothy the heebie-jeebies!
Where the hell was Kenneth going to find two people to play his parents? And with the way the drama was playing out, if his mom kept playing hardball, it was about to turn into a full-blown soap opera.
As he turned to make a phone call outside the hospital room, Dorothy furrowed her brows, "Mom, this is too much! His parents have jobs! They can't just drop everything and come."
"He's the one who said his parents wanted to meet me. What's wrong with me agreeing?"
Bella had thought of a thousand ways to verify whether her daughter was really married or just playing house with some rich guy!
Dorothy was stuck between a rock and a hard place. She glanced at the door, "I'm going to see how he's talking to his parents. If it's not convenient, can you stop giving him a hard time? Maybe let them come another day when they’re prepared."
"No." Bella refused firmly, "If you guys are conspiring to trick me, should I give you time to find an actor?"
...
Around the corner outside the hospital room, Dorothy found Kenneth by following his voice.
Seeing her, he smiled, comforting her in a low voice, "Don't worry, my parents said they'll be here as soon as they're ready!"
Dorothy was taken aback, "You really called them?"
"Yup!" Kenneth knew her concerns and wanted to put her at ease, "Since I promised to help you today, I'll definitely see it through! After Karen told me about your mom's situation, I'd already thought about how she would test our relationship and gave my parents a heads up. They were more than happy to help and even complimented you for being filial."
Dorothy felt grateful as she said, "Mr. Nelson… I really don't know how to thank you."
For a moment there, she was ready to throw in the towel and tell her mom everything!
"Don't call me Mr. Nelson, call me Kenneth! Or like Karen, call me Brother Kenneth! I'm a few years older than you, so it's a fitting nickname."
Dorothy nodded, forgetting what she was supposed to say for a moment.
"Brother Kenneth."

The readers' comments on the novel: The CEO's Hidden Love: Midnight Temptations and Deep Desires
Sometimes Karen can be such a drama queen and immature....
For some reason I am now feeling suspicious about Kevin's new girlfriend....
I really hope this Perdita person is not a new villain....
I too echoed the sentiments of pppplllleeeaaaassssseeeeee bring this drama to an end. I beg of you!...
Really please finish this book and upload the full story so it can end. It's been drugout for so long!...
The intimate scenes in this story or uncomfortable to read. They either come off as being forced, painful, or simply not enjoyable....
Okay I left a long while ago and came back. Looks like it's been updated but still not done lol. I'll maybe wait 6 months before coming back and it'll probably still be going on. It's like a soap opera instead of a novel...
Kenneth is confirming something I've been thinking about him for several hundred chapters ago and that is he is a future murder suicide perpetrator. And after reading chapter 1275 yeah it's just brought the thought back....
How could Jeffrey throw the knife down at the scene of the crime with both their fingerprints on there?...
Again no update, so is this where it ends? Or post the whole book. Your dragging this out...
