The alarm by the bed was ringing nonstop, so Hayden reached her hand out and pushed randomly, but it didn’t stop. She then opened eyes and found out that it was still middle of the night and it was three o’clock in the morning.
She then realized that it was the phone’s buzzing.
“President Downey, there is an accident in the warehouse.”
Dante’s words were echoing in Hayden’s ear on the way she went to the warehouse. There was still burning fire when Joseph drove Hayden to the warehouse. Two firefighting trucks were combating the fire and fire fighters tried to use huge volumes of water to contain the fire. But it didn’t seem to be working.
“What happened?”
Hayden immediately saw Dante right after she got off the car. He looked dirty and seemed that he’d just run out of the fire scene.
“I checked the inventory and left at eight o’clock. Then I asked Freddie to check this batch of products again last tonight, but he called one hour ago and said there was a fire. We didn’t know the cause of the fire yet, but we are definitely not the one to blame.”
“What’s the point of saying that?”
Holding her forehead, Hayden was nearly out of breath.
Amid panicking, she just blurted out, “We’re one week till the deadline! I told you that we should deliver these products today to avoid any unpredicted troubles, but you just had to send them back to the warehouse! Why were you so paranoid!”
Dante’s eyes were filled with redness, but he just lowered his head and didn’t respond to Hayden’s yelling.
Joseph can’t bear to watch anymore and stopped Hayden, “Stay calm. The fire hasn’t been put out yet. We don’t know what happened. It’s useless to yell at him. we should think some solutions.”
“What solutions? We’re done for!”
Hayden was pretty agitated and yelled at Joseph. She then furiously kicked the cardboard box next to her aside.
This was Green Lemon’s first order and got off on a rocky start. They were finally about to close the deal, but this fire just happened suddenly.
Hayden thought that this was definitely a man-made disaster.
She was afraid that something like this would happen before, so she proposed they should send this first batch to the West Group, but Dante insisted on sending all of the products together. Then this accident happened.
Anna also got the call and rushed to the warehouse. Exchanging eye look, Anna and Joseph each guarded one side and separated Hayden and Dante so they can have room to cool off.
Though Dante didn’t say anything, he was also furious inside.
He quit his last job because his former supervisor didn’t believe in him and wanted to blame him for something that he had never done. Now, he encountered a similar situation and felt terrible.
“Calm down first.”
Bringing Hayden back to the car, Joseph took off his jacket and covered her shoulder. “It’s not that terrible.”
“Is it? But I think it’s absolutely awful. I’m not competent enough to manage the whole Group. I should have just run Green Lemon myself, but I throw everything to Dante.” Hayden was pretty devastated and muttered the whole sentence with her head burying in the knee.
Looking at her stricken figure, Joseph took a deep breath and then said, “We have two solutions now. The first is that we lose money to save our commercial credit. We can negotiate with the West Group to see if we can postpone half a month to deliver the products, but we have to pay at least 50% of penalty. So we would lose a pretty hefty of money on this deal.”
“The worst scenario would be we lose all the money and can’t still buy back our credit.” Clenching her fist, Hayden said, “Franklin must be waiting for the time which we lose both the money and credit, so he can acquire the company.”
