Alex
When Tracy screamed I felt like my soul leave my body, the kids were startled too and James rushed to them, leading them upstairs.
The package fell from Tracy's hand and I saw what was in it, it was a dead rat and a paper.
I picked the paper and read what was on it out loud.
"It is going to be deadly." I read then sigh, I looked at Tracy who stood frozen on a spot, I went closer to her and held her hands, tears fell from her eyes and I pulled her in for a hug.
"She is not going to stop Alex, my children, what if they see this?"
"It's okay, they didn't see it, James took them upstairs," I told her but she was still stiff in my arms, the tears kept falling making me feel really bad that she saw that.
"I'm scared, I'm scared Alex, I'm scared for you, I'm scared for the kids too." She said still stiff.
"Don't worry, everything would be fine," I said releasing her, then I led her to the sofa where she sat down, James came downstairs a few minutes later looking worried.
"How is she?" James asked and I shook my head, he brought out his phone and snapped the rat, I gave him the paper that came with it and he snapped that too.
"Did the kids see this?" I asked and James shook his head
"No, they only heard her scream, they were too busy with their iPad, I told them she screamed because she was playing a game with you."
"Thank you, did you hear that Tracy? The kids didn't see anything." I said and she nodded.
"Tracy, don't think about it too much, everything would be fine," James said but there was no response
"Um, I should get going, I would drop by the police station and report this, Alex, please take care of her, I'll talk to the guards before I leave."
"Okay, thanks, man."
"You are welcome."
He left and everything was quiet for a while, I moved closer to Tracy holding her hands again.
"Tracy, listen to me, Don't worry about anything, not because of you and I but because of our kids, they don't know about what just happened but if they see you like this they'd be very worried so please, try not to think about it," I said and she nodded
"How about I just leave?, We'd tell the kids I'm on vacation, I'd stay far away, maybe then she'd stop this and come for me." She said and I glared at her.
"Seriously?, One, there is no way I'm letting you out of my sight, two, what is giving you the assurance that your leaving would change her mind?."
"I just think it is the best thing to do Alex."
"No, it is the worst thing to do, and no I'm not going to listen to you talk about leaving, maybe you and the kids should m take an early nap, come let's go." I helped her up and then we went upstairs to the kid's room where they were playing with their iPad.
"Mummy!, Daddy!"
"My Angels, let's stop playing with the iPad now and take a nap," I said and they nodded.
Tracy slept in between them on the bed and I waited until they fell asleep, it took over thirty minutes but they eventually fell asleep.
I felt stressed so I went to our room to pick my laptop and I went downstairs to work, I did some of the pending work I had, I read through Tony's feedback and sent him some instructions, I reviewed some contracts and sorted them, I read feedback from the manager of the branch in Florida too, and I sent him instructions.
