Chapter 106
Avery looked at him earnestly, “Are you in love with my sister?”
Leopold’s eyes darkened slightly.
He wouldn’t develop feelings for any woman, let alone one who was sly as a fox, constantly scheming to get his money!
At least, that’s what he believed.
As for those feelings of losing control, annoyance, frustration, and irritation…they were all because of her. Her infuriatingly sharp tongue was really annoying!
“What has Aurelia told you?”
“She hasn’t said anything, which is why I’m worried. I’m afraid you’re playing with her.”
Leopold scoffed, “You’re overthinking it. I don’t have time to play games with women.”
Really! Avery pursed his lips. Wasn’t his habit of playing the field proof enough?
“You still haven’t answered my question. Do you like my sister or not?”
Leopold averted his gaze, looking out of the car window, his voice as indifferent as the wind, “She’s a very competent employee, nothing more.”
Avery knew he would say that. This man would never truly care for his sister; he was just attracted to her appearance and wanted to play with her.
“In that case, please keep your distance from my sister and don’t interfere with her relationship with Arnold. If you dare to hurt her, I’ll definitely fight you.”
Leopold’s brows furrowed, his demeanor suddenly cold, “What’s her relationship with Arnold?”
“Even though they’re not dating right now, they will eventually be together. My sister likes Arnold, and Arnold likes my sister too…” Avery was indignant, but his words were interrupted by the sound of a car window being knocked.
Aurelia was standing outside, looking at him in shock.
He opened the car door and stepped out.
“What are you doing here?” Aurelia asked hurriedly.
“I came to see you off. I saw you hadn’t arrived yet, so I chatted with your boss for a bit.” He smiled.
She didn’t notice anything unusual and affectionately touched his head, “Alright, focus on your acting, I’ll see you back at Elysium.”
Once in the car, she fastened her seatbelt. Leopold started the engine, and the Rolls–Royce slowly pulled out of the parking lot.
On the hotel balcony, Arnold stood for a long time, gazing down below.
His hazel eyes were profoundly dark, like a corner forever untouched by sunlight.
The journey was shrouded in silence, Aurelia sensed something was off.
She sneakily glanced at the man behind the wheel. He looked so cold, almost freezing her gaze.
Could it be that the big boss was in a bad mood this early in the morning?
Was it because he didn’t sleep well last night?
“Mr. Leopold, are you tired? Would you like me to peel you an orange?” She asked tentatively.
Leopold glanced at her through the rear–view mirror.
His mood had been affected by Avery’s last words, and now it was below freezing.
“I’m driving. How can I eat an orange?”
“Oh.” She stuck out her tongue. She didn’t really want to peel him an orange; she was just trying to break the silence with a topic of conversation.
“Did you…sleep well last night?”
“It was alright.” He answered coldly.
Then why was he in a bad mood?
