Leopold pondered for a moment before stretching out his large hand and wrapping it around her slender waist, a devilish smirk creeping onto his lips, “Honey, let’s keep trying for that daughter tonight.”
Aurelia shot him a playful glare, “We should focus on having a healthy baby first. Let’s plan for a couple of months before we try again. Besides, I haven’t found that old tale recipe for a baby girl yet.”
Leopold’s plans were thrown into disarray, “But we only have one son. Having another wouldn’t be too many.” He hoped that Liam would return.
But in her mind, they didn’t just have one. There were already two, and another would be one too many!
She only wanted a daughter like Nova, chubby and chirpy, a little bundle of joy.
“Anyway, I only want a daughter. Daughters are like warm hugs on a cold day.”
“Isn’t our boy Kane sweet enough for you?” Leopold pinched her cheek gently, then seemed to remember something and asked, “Isn’t your period a bit late this month?”
Aurelia checked her phone and did the math. It seemed to be a few days late, but her cycle was never regular.
“It’s fine. It’s normal for me to be a few days late. It happens all the time.”
“Last time, we ran out of...” Leopold hinted, but she waved it off nonchalantly, “We were in the safe period. There's no problem.”
Each time her menstrual cycle ended, their sexual encounters would become more intense, to the point where their supply of contraceptives barely sufficed.
Fortunately, they were presently in a safe period.
Reassured by her words, Leopold didn’t press the matter further.
In the backyard, Skyler and the kids had started setting up tents.
Tonight was their camping and gourmet food party.
With so many people to play with Nina and Mira, the two kids could momentarily forget the worries of their parents' divorce and lose themselves in fun.
Soon, the tents were pitched.
