Chapter 176
Aurelia was speechless.
She stared at him, “Should I also be keeping an eye on my children’s future stepmother?”
The corner of his mouth curled up into a mocking, cold smirk, “Sure, if you think you’re up for it.”
The words were dripping with contempt for her.
She might not have the skills, but she had courage.
“In the world of high society, nine out of ten stepmothers are wicked, hoping for their own children to inherit the family fortune by any means necessary. Beneath the veneer of respectability and grace, there’s nothing but self–interest. For my children, I’d do anything, including stopping you from marrying some wicked
woman.”
Leopold reached out and pinched her ear, “I’ve told you, I won’t have another child! Can’t you remember anything I say?”
He twisted slightly, causing her to whimper in pain. She quickly brushed his hand away, rubbing her now red and throbbing ear.
Elowen had said he’d been poisoned, affecting his fertility, but he was still so young, it’s possible he could
recover.
“A woman can steal a man’s seed in hundreds of ways, unless…”
Her eyes rolled around, a mischievous glimmer flashing across them.
“Here’s an idea. For the sake of our children, I’ll let you have a say in my future partner. As for your future wife, she must have tubectomy before marrying you. That would make things foolproof.”
Leopold looked at her, a dark smirk playing on his lips, “I didn’t know you had such a wicked streak.”
Aurelia grinned slyly, “I may not have your wealth or power, but for my children, I can do anything, I dare to do anything.”
Maybe a woman is weak, but when it comes to their children, they’re strong.
Leopold’s eyes darkened, as deep and mysterious as an ancient frozen lake, “Fine, it’s settled then.”
The sudden change in topic caught her off guard, “You agree?”
His thin lips curled into a cold, cryptic smile, “It’s a wicked idea, but it is creative, and it would solve my
problems.”
Aurelia was stunned.
She was sure he wouldn’t agree, she’d only suggested it so he’d stop meddling in her affairs.
But she had underestimated him, and ended up shooting herself in the foot.
He was the truly wicked one!
While she was still in shock, Leopold’s hand slipped under her skirt, causing her to shudder and freeze in place, “What… what are you doing?”
A wicked glint appeared in his handsome face, “As long as we’re married, I’m obligated as your husband to take care of you, to make sure you can have a child.”
The book Laura bought, “A Guide to Marital Relations During Pregnancy“, he’d already studied it several times, all that was left was to put theory into practice.
Aurelia paled, her face as white as a ghost. How did he circle back to this?
Clearly, his issues were solved, he was as virile as ever, but she wasn’t the one to help him deal with that, “I’ve said before, the first time should… should be with someone you love.”
