Chapter 259
Though Joyce’s attempted suicide had been thwarted, she was left in a vegetative state, confined to a hospital bed.
Sheryl thought that by marrying Fredric, she had won the game. Little did she know, the game had just begun. Once a man cheated, he was bound to cheat again. There would always be another woman after the first one.
No one ever won in this game, unless the man was out of play one day.
Upstairs, Jelena was soaking in a bath. Fredric had taken her clothes to be dried.
She picked up her phone from the side table and found a photo.
The photo showed her with a beautiful girl.
Underneath the photo, there was a message.
“Jelena, keep it up! You will pass the audition for the dance regiment. You’re the best!”
Signed: Your beloved senior, Joyce.
She turned off the phone, with gloomy and determination in her eyes..
Downstairs, Aurelia received a WhatsApp message from Jelena.
“Sweetie, you have to give them hell for me. If Sheryl loses, make her eat a spicy hamburger, double the hot sauce. She can’t handle spicy foods.”
Aurelia took a deep breath and replied with a simple “OK“.
The next round was for Aurelia and Evelyn.
Evelyn sat next to Leopold, looking as innocent as a lamb. She wasn’t very good at the game either.
“Leo, I barely play games. Aurelia has always been against me. Will she treat me like she did with Sheryl?”
Leopold also wondered what Aurelia would do, but she would have to win first.
“Maybe you’re both equally bad.”
Evelyn intended to get Leopold’s help, like Fredric, and take the opportunity to show off their relationship. And if Aurelia took this chance to get back at her, it would definitely upset Leopold and she’d pay later.
When Aurelia sat in front of the computer, she glanced at Leopold, who was looking at her too. The moment their eyes met, she quickly looked away. Why did Leopold always look at her when she looked at him? Was there some sort of telepathy going on?
She quickly shook her head. It couldn’t be. It was just a coincidence.
Evelyn was also looking at Leopold/ In her mind, Leopold was looking at her. In her heart, she was praying, hoping that Aurelia was as bad as her. She didn’t want to lose to Aurelia.
As soon as the game started, Aurelia showed she seemed even worse than Jelena.
After a while, Evelyn relaxed and started attacking her relentlessly in the game. But Aurelia dodged every attack. Leopold saw through it in a glance that she was toying with Evelyn.
She seemed to be a rookie, but she was actually a pro.
After about ten minutes, Evelyn was furious. She couldn’t believe she couldn’t defeat Aurelia. After a round of heavy shooting, she found that Aurelia had disappeared.
Chapter
When she turned around, Aurelia was right behind her, defeating her with one shot.
Evelyn was depressed and blamed herself for being so careless. Aurelia was clearly even worse at the game than she was, and if she’d been more careful, she could have beaten Aurelia for sure.
