After dinner, Aurelia headed to the training ground. 

It wasn’t hard to acquire these skills, as long as you had the guts.

Arnold asked gravely, “Who arrested him?”

Arnold’s eyes darkened, appearing as unpredictable as a stormy night. 

“I see. Send someone to the border office to check all the records of babies coming from our country in the 

past two months.” 

Russell nodded, “Yes.” 

Arnold glanced at Aurelia, who was engrossed in her shooting practice, her ears protected by muffs. 

He walked out, asking in a low voice, “Did the people you sent to watch Marcia find anything?” 

Russell replied, “She hasn’t had any contact with Eldoria, but she’s had several secret calls with someone in Freysland, all at night. I tracked the numbers, they’re all payphones.” 

Arnold rubbed his chin, his expression pensive, “Keep an eye on them. Inform me of any findings immediately.” 

“Yes.” 

After Russell left, Arnold returned to Aurelia, gently patting her shoulder, “Let’s call it a day. Don’t overdo it.” 

Aurelia put down her gun. 

After a shower, she sat on the couch with a glass of milk. 

She was exhausted, but sleep eluded her, Her thoughts were filled with her child. 

Once a woman had a child, she was bound, no longer carefree and unencumbered as in her single days. 

Arnold sat next to her, “Don’t worry too much. As long as their goal isn’t achieved, the child is safe for now.” 

Aurelia took a sip of her milk, her brows slightly furrowed, “Their target is Leopold. They want to use the baby as leverage. If he doesn’t respond, they might take desperate measures.” 

That was her biggest fear. 

Arnold pondered for a moment, “If they were just common criminals looking for ransom, they might harm the baby. But they definitely want more than money. Keeping Liam alive is more beneficial for them, since he’s Leopold’s child.” 

This thought comforted Aurelia slightly. 

If it were just about money, Leopold wouldn’t refuse. What he never lacked was money. But t
