Chapter 385
It was Elvis, the CEO of Ethereal Gerns.
Aurelia rose to her feet, offering a polite greeting. “Mr. Cooper, long time no see”
Elvis‘ lips curved into a charming smile, “Didn’t Mr. Leopold come with you?”
He admired Aurelia for her unparalleled talent as a jewelry designer in the industry.
Aurelia flashed a smile, “He is out of town today”
Elvis‘ brows quirked, a hint of playfulness in his gaze, “Mr. Leopold is very clever. I suppose he was afraid I would steal you away, so he got the jump on me and married you first”
With a teasing tone, Aurelia retorted, “If Mr. Leopold hadn’t married me. I might have jumped ship to Ethereal Gems. After all, the offer Mr. Cooper presented was too good to refuse.”
Elvis laughed, “I’m looking forward to your new designs after your return.”
“I’m also looking forward to the new products in your company Competition promotes progress.” As Aurelia was speaking, she saw Melissa approaching, obviously looking for Elvis
She was livid at the sight of him talking and laughing with Aurelia.
“Elvis, you’re acquainted with Aurelia?” she spat sarcastically.
Elvis glanced at her dismissively. “Aurelia is the designer I admire the most.”
Melissa instantly felt something was going on between him and Aurelia.
Just a few days ago, Aurelia had heard about how Elvis had rejected her, so Aurelia was probably laughing behind her back.
“Elvis, you do enjoy mingling with the commoner, don’t you?” she sneered.
Elvis frowned, “Melissa, Aurelia is your sister–in–law
“So what?” Melissa shrugged, “Our Stirling family never accepted her Only a lady of prestigious birth has the right to be the true matriarch of the Stirling family, not some commoner”
Her tone was extremely sharp, showing no intention of saving face for Aurelia.
Beverley rolled her eyes, “Melissa, can’t you be a little nicer? Everyone but you in the Stirling family has accepted Aurelia. Don’t take your frustrations out on her because you’re single.”
Melissa’s face turned pale, “Don’t talk nonsense. Since when did I become single? I have so many suitors they could line up to the moon”
Elvis smirked, “Then you should hurry up and get married. You’re not getting any younger”
Melissa was stung by his words, “Elvis, are you implying that I’m old?”
Elvis scoffed, “You don’t think you’re young, do you?”
His words were hurtful and insulting
Melissa was furious, “Elvis, you’re crossing the line.”
Elvis stared at her, his gaze icy, “I said you’re old, and you’re angry, right? Have you ever considered others‘ feelings when you insult them?”
