Just then, a mysterious email landed in her inbox, attached a picture. 

The moment she opened it, her eyes widened in shock.

The first dish served was an American classic, clam chowder. 

A masked waiter brought the soup in, ladling it out at a nearby service table. 

Everyone was chatting and laughing, unaware of the waiter discreetly pulling out a syringe and injecting a clear liquid into one of the bowls 

Aurelia’s mood was off, the image from the picture consuming her thoughts. Even the soup tasted sour to her as if it had a squeeze of lemon. 

Cindy raised her glass, “Let’s toast to Director Aurelia. It’s great to have her back. This time, we’ll definitely beat Zina.” 

Everyone stood up, clinking their glasses together. 

Jenny said, “In the past three years, so many companies have imitated Director Aurelia’s design style. They’re all trying to create a sense of novelty, but it’s losing its charm.” 

Aurelia nodded, “That’s why we’re taking a different approach this time” 

Lily chimed in, “Our Director Aurelia, forever emulated, yet never outdone.” 

Aurelia managed a smile and raised her glass to Cindy Despite her bad mood, she put on a brave face, not wanting her colleagues to suspect anything.
