"Aurelia!" An exasperated sigh escaped Leopold's lips. It was as if a mountain stood between them, forever preventing any real closeness.

With a swift change of subject, Aurelia asked, “You spent the day with Skyler. Did you discover anything?"

Leopold's expression turned a shade darker, "I suspect he was abused by Tanya since he was a child."

"What?" Aurelia gasped in shock, “Isn't Tanya his birth mother?"

Aurelia sighed, “Why such haste to harm her families?"

After a pause, she changed the topic, "If Tanya is really the head, isn't the financial group behind AK Group the Heninger family? With all her behind-the-scenes maneuvers, are the Heningers completely unaware?"

Leopold reached out, ruffling her hair, “That's not for you to worry about. I will get to the bottom of it."

Aurelia shot him a sideways glance. Kane was in constant danger, how could she not worry?
