She took a sip of her coffee, then continued, “Back in the day, if I had carried on crying and causing a scene like her, your brother would have found a hundred excuses to divorce me and make his mistress the main lady.” 

Elowen almost fainted. She couldn’t bear it. She couldn’t even tolerate a grain of sand in her heart. How could she possibly tolerate another woman? 

Just as she was about to speak, Leopold returned. He looked at Elara and smirked, “Aunt Jessica’s here. Anything important? I have a meeting to attend soon.” 

“Nothing much, just came to chit–chat with my sister–in–law.” Elara quickly changed her tone, becoming very gentle. 

Elowen wasn’t pleased. She pouted so much she could hang an oil can on her lips. 

“Were you with Evelyn all day yesterday?” 

Leopold took a sip of his coffee, leaning back into the couch, looking at her teasingly, “I’ve always. considered Evelyn as a sister, and I can’t touch women. What are you worrying about?” 

His words left Elowen speechless. She lowered her head in frustration, fiddling with her fingers. 

Elara glanced at him, somewhat doubtful about Leopold’s physical condition. She feared he had secretly recovered but was pretending to be impotent.. 

“Leopold, you still haven’t recovered?” 

Leopold held his forehead and sighed, “I have nerve damage. It’s a medical challenge, whether I can recover is still unknown.” 

“Perhaps, you could try with Elowen. A little stimulation might help.” Elara whispered. A man’s potency can be easily tested. 

Leopold swirled the coffee in his cup, a hint of helplessness in his eyes, “We tried. She personally tested it. It didn’t work.” 

His voice was low, almost as if he was talking to himself, but Elara heard every word. She was taken aback, looking at her daughter. 

Elowen bit her lip, her eyes teary. She was deeply disappointed that there was absolutely

Jessica put her coffee cup on the table, her expression turned serious, “Let’s avoid discussing women in front of Leopold. As the head of the Stirling family, he can’t lose face.”
