Chapter 195 The Person Within Reach
Laura didn’t even pause to think. She simply said, “We really need your help, Zach. Can you come over! The movers are here, but my husband and I think their charges are a bit unreasonable…
“All right. I’m downstairs now. I’ll be up in a moment. Please wait for me.”
“Okay, okay.”
After hanging up the phone, Laura felt as if she had been pardoned. Clutching Lysander’s hand emotionally, she said, “It’s okay now. It’s okay now. Everything will be fine once Zach arrives.”
Although Maverick didn’t display the same level of exaggeration as Laura, he, too, breathed a sigh of relief.
In just a few minutes, Zachary arrived.
Upon entering, he noticed a few workers squatting outside the door, with a few more standing inside.
“What are you guys doing?”
Upon hearing the sound, Laura immediately rushed out, her face filled with joy. “Zach,” she exclaimed, “you’re finally here.
Zachary smiled and nodded. “I apologize, Mrs. Thorne. I should have arrived earlier, but there was a bit of traffic on the road.”
“No worries. No worries. It’s good that you’re here.”
Zachary was quite tall, and his attire clearly marked him as a white–collar worker. When he furrowed his brows, he could be quite intimidating. “Mrs. Thome, is this the moving company you hired?”
Laura nodded. “Their charges are too high. Mr. Thorne and I thought it wasn’t worth it, so we decided not to use their services. However, they demanded compensation for lost work.”
The head worker’s confidence faltered upon seeing a young man in the house. “Well… we definitely need to be compensated for the lost work time,” he said. “Your place is so far from the city, and we’ve made a wasted trip. We surely need some sort of compensation.”
Zachary asked, “How much compensation is needed?”
Before the worker could utter a word, Laura quickly interjected, “They’re asking for a thousand.”
Zachary remained silent. He dialed a number straight away. “Hello, is this the customer service department for Elephant Movers Company? Yes, I want to ask how do you calculate the compensation for work disruption? Yes, okay. Please hold on for a moment….
Laura asked, “What’s the matter, Zach?”
“Mrs. Thorne, where did you find them?”
“It was the flyer posted downstairs that led me to dial the number.”
“All right. Hand me your phone. I’ll have headquarters verify the calculation for the lost work compensation, and then they can communicate with them.”
“Okay, I’ll give it to you right now…”
Suddenly, a pair of large hands covered the phone.
The lead worker chuckled. “Young man, it was all a misunderstanding. The lady simply misheard…”

Zachary glanced at him, didn’t utter a word, and promptly brushed off his hand. He took back Laura’s phone. and handed it back to her. “Mrs. Thorne, check your phone.”
“Oh, okay, then.”
“Wait a minute. Wait…” The lead worker instantly put on a different face, wrapping an arm around Zachary’s neck, grinning like they were the best of pals. “Let’s not mention this to the headquarters, okay? How about this? We won’t ask for any compensation for the work delay. We’ll leave right now. Is that acceptable?”

Update pls~...
Why no update ???...
Chapters 692 693 ans 694 are impossible to read. Not sure if there was an issue with translation.but the words do not make sense..impossible to follow story line...
I cant get over the fact that the writer is trying to show as if the male lead has committed a grave sin. First he didnt know she was pregnant because she never told him. Second right from the start she never communicated anything. She was unbothered even during her marriage. I am not saying the male lead is great but atleast he seems like a human with emotions unlike her. And there is no context for why she is so emotionless....
The female lead is not charming but an unbothered b word, there is a very big difference. There is no point of extending this story at all because even if you write 1000+ chapters at 1001 the male lead would still be doing everything for her and she wouldnt bat an eye even if someone killed him. I mean honestly either the start should have been written better where we do understand that she was deeply affected because of her divorce or just STOPPPPP. Even for fiction it is annoying....
