“Really? Then can she also willingly give up on the Thorne family’s wealth?”

Howard angrily rebuked, “Lyss!”

“There’s no need to split it now. You could draft a will first, agreeing to divide the Thorne family’s assets equally between Dr. Thorne and myself. Once both of you pass on in the distant future, Dr. Thorne and I

can handle the rest ourselves.”

Howard’s face was etched with disappointment. “Fine, a will, is it? I’ll write it for you right now!”

Lysanne said. “The Thorne family’s assets are now jointly owned by you and Mom, so it requires both of your signatures to be valid. Can Mom write now?”

“If she can’t write, then I’ll just hold her hand and write for her! Would that be acceptable?” Howard, so furious his blood was boiling, asked, “Susan, do you have any paper and pen here?”

Secing the situation escalating. Susan had no choice but to play the peacemaker. “Don’t be rash. You and Molly are still young, so it’s not auspicious to be drafting wills now. Eleanor, did you leave some food aside. for Molly?”

“I did.”

“Pack it up and let Howard take it to the hospital for Molly later,” Susan instructed.

“Yes, Madam.”

Susan asked again. “Lysander, how does this wound look to you?” 

By then, Lysander had already disinfected the wound and was now bandaging it with gauze. “It’s a bit deep, but the bleeding has stopped. Just to be on the safe side, she should still go to the hospital for a check–up.

“All right. I’ll call the driver and have him take Lyss to the hospital.”

Susan quickly arranged for a driver, and after ending the call, she said, “The driver is waiting downstairs. Lyss. I’ve already arranged everything with him. He will wait for you at the hospital entrance, and once your wounds are treated, he’ll take you straight home.”

Lysanne asked, “Dad, are you coming back to the hospital with me?”

“What about Mom?”

we’ll each go our separate ways. Whether you decide to go abroad or not, it’s up to you. Susan, make sure to rest well. Lysa and I will be leaving now.”

Susan nodded, a disappointed look on her face. “All right, just send me a message when you get to the hospital.”

“It was no trouble at all. I heard about the situation your family is in, but you saw Josiah’s attitude today. I’ll- try to mediate and see if I can do something about it. The bank will also give you some time to gather the funds for your loan, so don’t worry. Wait for my news.”
