Chapter 461 You And Your Boyfriend Seem Really Close

“All right, then.”

Lysander had no choice but to take control of the cooking, lest their agreement of her treating him to a meal turned into him coming over to cook for her instead.

The apartment was not large to begin with, and the kitchen was even smaller. It felt spacious enough for one person, but with two it became rather crowded. One had to be careful not to bump into each other.

Yet, from start to finish, Adrian managed to control his strength perfectly, ensuring that he never bumped into her throughout.

Once Lysander finished peeling the ingredients, the trash can would promptly be in Adrian’s hands, ready to collect other kitchen waste. There was never a moment of delay.

Finally, Lysander brought out the clay pot, ready to stew the pork ribs. Once she had added the water, realized that the bottle of cooking wine had long been empty.

Seeing her hesitate, Adrian quickly asked, “What’s wrong?”

Then, without waiting for her response, he had a sudden realization. “I used up the last bit of cooking wine last time. I intended to replenish it for you next time, but I forgot. Wait a moment, I’ll go out and buy some right now!”

No sooner had his words faded, than he dashed out of the kitchen, quickly changed his shoes, and ran out.

There was a small supermarket at the entrance of the residential area. It didn’t have a wide variety of food ingredients, but it did carry common seasonings.

Even without asking. Lysander knew that Adrian would go there to buy cooking wine. She remained busy in the kitchen. The spare ribs weren’t going to be stewed for now, so she could only start preparing the lemon butter fish. This dish was not any simpler than making soup.

Through the corner of her eye, she saw that the bottle containing lemon juice was empty as well.

“Dr. Sutton, wait up!” Lysander hastily rushed out, just in time to catch Adrian who had already stepped

one foot into the elevator.

Adrian hurriedly halted his steps and asked, “What’s wrong?”

“While you’re at it, could you also grab a bottle of lemon juice? We’ll need it later for the lemon butter fish,” Lysander reminded him.

Adrian flashed a smile as he said, “All right. Is there anything else in the kitchen that needs restocking? I’U try to get everything in one trip.”

After giving it some thought, Lysander shook her head and said, “Nothing more.”

Adrian had just stepped into the elevator, and right before the doors closed, he said, “Wait for me; I’ll be back soon.

Lysander watched as Adrian entered the elevator. She had barely turned around when she unexpectedly ran into Josiah, who had seemingly appeared from next door.

It was as if he could walk without making a sound.

Pretending not to notice him, Lysander was about to walk past Josiah when Tiffany stopped her.

“Lysa, you and your boyfriend seem really close! The way you two were talking earlier was so heartwarming that it made me quite envious!” she said.

“You two are pretty close too,” Lysander replied before turning around and heading back home.

Before Lysander could step through the door, Josiah rushed to ask her, “Did you need something when you called me last night? I was in a video conference at the time and had my phone on silent, so I couldn’t answer the call,”

A video conference at such a late hour?

However, Lysander couldn’t be bothered to dwell on the reasons anymore.

She said nonchalantly, “It’s fine; everything has been taken care of.”

Upon seeing Lysander’s strictly professional demeanor, Josiah was immediately irritated. He lowered his voice and said. “If you have something to say, just say it.” 

“As I said, it has already been taken care of. Did you guys have other matters to attend to outside? The elevator should be here by now,” Lysander responded.

Josiah, with his thin lips pursed, said nothing more.

Tiffany chuckled. “No, we’re not heading out. We’re just checking if our food delivery has arrived yet.”

With an adorable stick of her tongue, she added, “I’m not really good at cooking, so I guess we’ll have to make do with food delivery for now.”

“Oh, you two carry on waiting, then. I’ll be heading back now.”

As he was unpacking, he said. “The line at checkout held me up for a bit. I hope that didn’t cause you any trouble.”

As he spoke, Adrian had already taken out the red wine, aromatherapy candles, and a bouquet of flowers that he had somehow managed to stuff into the bag. “This is the first time I’m eating your cooking, so of course, there needs to be a sense of ceremony,” he explained.

“I made Ecronian cuisine, so I’m afraid it may not live up to such grand expectations,” Lysander said gently.

Adrian laughed as he said, “Then this will be a fusion of cultures! By the way, do you have a candlestick at home?”

Having never purchased such an impractical item bepre. Lysander replied. “No. I don’t.”

Lysander opened up the seasonings and stayed in the kitchen to continue cooking. By the time the lemon butter fish filled the air with its enticing aroma, the pork ribs were also nearly done. She quickly fried some vegetables and plated them, then dished up two bowls of pasta. With that, dinner was ready.

Inside the restaurant, Adrian had already set up the dining table, creating an ambiance of a candlelit dinner. 

A rose adorned with dewdrops was placed at the center, flanked by aromatherapy candles resting on coasters on either side. Once the light was turned off, it truly evoked the ambiance of a fancy restaurant.

Adrian immediately returned the compliment by saying, “How could I not match up to your culinary skills? This lemon butter fish is truly well made. It seems you’ve been modestly hiding your cooking talents all along.

“If you can’t genuinely compliment me, then don’t bother forcing it. I’m well aware of my own cooking skills,” Lysander said as she pulled out a chair to sit down.
