Chapter 512 Our Care
Daphne grew increasingly annoyed as she dwelled on the matter, shooting daggers at Josiah.
Tension filled the air.

Josiah heard everything, yet showed no intention of retorting. In fact, he didn’t even seem fazed, simply gazing in Lysander’s direction.
Lysander secretly tugged at Daphne’s arm. “It’s not what you think. I’ll explain it all to you in a bit.”
“Is there more to the story?”
“Yeah, it’s somewhat complicated”
“I didn’t touch a single penny of that fifty million, ready to return it to him at any moment. I would never give him the opportunity to blackmail you into doing something you’re unwilling to do.”
“It’s not about the money.” Lysander glanced at Josiah, her tone softening. “Daphne doesn’t know about Ms. Lionhart’s situation. I’ll talk to her later.”
He nodded. “She’s standing up for you. I understand.”
Lysander chuckled drily and nodded as Daphne pulled her aside, whispering in her car, “What’s going on between you and Josiah? Did he do anything to you when you went to Apex City?”
Lysander averted her gaze sheepishly. “No.”
“Figures. I heard his fiancée went with him. He wouldn’t dare do anything to you in her presence.”
Lysander hummed in response, frowning. “Things are already pretty chaotic. Why’d you bring Dr. Sutton here, too?”
Daphne was quite troubled. “I know what you think, but Adrian and I are friends. It’s fine if you don’t accept him, but I can’t just sever ties with him over this, can I?”
Lysander thought Daphne’s words made sense. Adrian did help Daphne today, and I have no evidence to prove that he came here for me, nor do I have the right to stop Daphne from interacting with Adrian.

Daphne patted Lysander on the arm reassuringly, “Don’t worry, Adrian’s not the relentless type. You’re still single, so of course he’s hopeful. I’m sure he’ll give up once you find a boyfriend.”
Lysander reluctantly nodded.
Daphne, dropping the matter, played with Aurora instead. “By the way, whose child is this? Where are her parents?”
None of the people present looked like they had children.
Propping Aurora up, Lysander smiled gently. “She’s the daughter of Mr. Guerra’s friend. Her mother went hiking and won’t be back for a couple of days, placing her in our care.”
Our. That word echoed in Josiah’s mind, and he arched his brow, his initially indifferent expression giving way to a warm smile much like the thawing of snow in spring.

Chapter 512 Our Care
Daphne gasped in surprise like how Lysander did. “Is her mother not worried? I can’t believe she entrusted her adorable baby to someone else. It’s one thing to leave the baby with you, but to Josiah… Does he even know how to take care of a child?”
Lysander chuckled, remembering to ask her about the important matter. “Let’s put the baby’s matter aside. How’s it going with that trump card you mentioned before? Any new developments?”
Daphne pulled her friend aside, saying mysteriously. “This is why I came. Besides visiting you, I’m here to look for someone. Whether I can find them or not, well, that’s up to luck.”
Lysander’s interest was piqued. “Who are you looking for? Is she also at the resort?”
With all the information aligning perfectly, it was clear that the Lionhart family Daphne referred to was Nieva’s family.
Daphne was excited. “You’ve seen her?
However, Daphne was quite impatient, growing anxious when she learned that Nieva had gone hiking. “How can I not be worried? Opportunities like this are rare. If I miss it this time, there might not be another chance.”

Update pls~...
Why no update ???...
Chapters 692 693 ans 694 are impossible to read. Not sure if there was an issue with translation.but the words do not make sense..impossible to follow story line...
I cant get over the fact that the writer is trying to show as if the male lead has committed a grave sin. First he didnt know she was pregnant because she never told him. Second right from the start she never communicated anything. She was unbothered even during her marriage. I am not saying the male lead is great but atleast he seems like a human with emotions unlike her. And there is no context for why she is so emotionless....
The female lead is not charming but an unbothered b word, there is a very big difference. There is no point of extending this story at all because even if you write 1000+ chapters at 1001 the male lead would still be doing everything for her and she wouldnt bat an eye even if someone killed him. I mean honestly either the start should have been written better where we do understand that she was deeply affected because of her divorce or just STOPPPPP. Even for fiction it is annoying....
