Chapter 558 Carry Me To The Bed
#Finished
Josiah cradled the cat in his arms and consciously retreated from the bedroom. Not forgetting to close the door behind him, he left Lysander alone to change her clothes and freshen up.
Lately, Lysander had been holed up in her study, diligently catching up on Thorne Constructions and Energies documents. There was no need for her to leave the house unless absolutely necessary. After a quick freshening up, she tied up her hair and sat down at the dining table.
After a few days of rest, she had finally regained some of her vitality. Her bare face had gained a touch of
rosy color.
Josiah held the Ragdoll kitten in one hand and lifted the insulation cover specially placed over the oatmeal with the other. “Breakfast is relatively light. Have a taste first,” he said.
The variety of dishes brought over on the cart wasn’t as extravagant as it was during dinner, but there were still quite a few plates laid out in all their glory.
Lysander stirred the chicken broth, which was the main dish, with a spoon. Immediately, her appetite was significantly aroused. These side dishes might have seemed light, but they surprisingly suited her palate. Even from her perspective as a doctor, the nutritional balance was very reasonable.
It was only fitting that the chefs in the resort were paid well.
After eating nearly half a bowl of oatmeal, Lysander suddenly paused in her spoon movements, belatedly noticing the gaze that had fallen on her.
Josiah stated that when taking care of a kitten, one should only focus on the kitten. He sat by its side without even touching his utensils.
Lysander suddenly felt bad. Seeing that there was only one bowl of oatmeal, she found it awkward to share it with him. Instead, she pushed an unused cutlery in his direction and asked, “Why aren’t you having breakfast?”
Josiah shook his head. “I’ve already eaten.”
“Oh.”
Surprisingly, Lysander didn’t find it odd. He appeared to be so busy that he could barely manage his daily. affairs, let alone personally take care of a cat. Therefore, it seemed normal for him to rise early for breakfast.
Josiah gently stroked the Ragdoll kitten’s small head as he waited for a moment. Seeing that Lysander really wasn’t going to ask any further, he reluctantly proceeded to say, “When I woke up, it was still early. I saw you were still asleep, so I went for a morning run. When I got back, you were still out like a light, so I took the liberty to freshen up again. I went downstairs and had breakfast afterward. That was when I prepared your breakfast.”
Lysander replied nonchalantly, You’ve certainly been busy this morning.”
Right after she finished speaking, she suddenly felt something was off. She immediately lit up her phone screen to take a look. As she took a slight breath, her first reaction was to doubt her own eyes, thinking she had seen it wrong or perhaps her phone was malfunctioning.

Josiah noticed her ears turning red. With an uncanny kriack for bringing up a topic at the wrong time, he glanced at his wristwatch and said. “The time is correct. It’s just past ten on my end as well.”
The Ragdoll kitten stretched out its paw and swiped at the wristwatch a few times, thoroughly enjoying itself.
Lysander’s internal clock was always on point. Unless she was unwell, she almost never slept in. This time, however, she slept until past ten in the morning, only to be woken up by Joslah.
Hence, she couldn’t help feeling slightly awkward.
Meanwhile, Josiah nonchalantly scratched the chin of a Ragdoll kitten as if he had no worries in the world. He didn’t have any experience raising cats, but he seemed to have a natural knack for it. With his nimble and slender fingers, he quickly managed to elicit a purring sound from the little feline.
“Didn’t the doctor mentioned before? You’ve been under immense stress recently and need proper rest to recuperate. You spent almost all of yesterday going through documents, so it’s normal that you slept longer. Oh! I forgot to ask you something earlier. How did you sleep last night?”
“Was it you who carried me to bed?”
“No. It was Josian.”
Lysander didn’t respond.
“Don’t you believe me?”
“I do. This Josian truly is a wonderful person who loves to help others.”
Josiah said, “Isn’t that right? He told you not to worry about it. He also said he wouldn’t mind doing it again.”
“Go on. Keep making up your story.
With a light chuckle, Josiah replied with serene contentment, “Lysander, I’ve suddenly realized that having these simple, mundane conversations with you makes life quite interesting.”
“A person’s life spans several decades. If it were filled with constant ups and downs every single day, no one’s heart could bear it. In reality, life itself is essentially mundane.”
“Indeed, you’re right.” Josiah gave a slow nod. “So, did you sleep well last night? I noticed you were furrowing your brows even in your sleep.”
Josiah was giving her the opportunity to move on from that topic.
Lysander had no reason to reject him. She continued eating her warm oatmeal while slightly furrowing
her brows as she answered, “I slept quite well. I had a good night’s

sleep, but waking up late and wasting
It was already past ten, and it was too late to reschedule her study plan. She expressed her helplessness, saying, “Guess I won’t need lunch, then.”
Josiah fed the Ragdoll kitten a treat from the bag, his demeanor calm and composed as he comforted.

“You’ve done well with the theoretical part. It’s time to shift your focus now. Consider this morning as a relaxation before the practical application begins.”
Lysander uttered thoughtfully. “There are only a few days left before I officially start at Thorne Constructions and Energies. It’s not the right time to relax.”
Time was pressing, and it was no small task to transform all the information she had learned recently into something she could call her own.
“You just need to skim through these materials and get a general idea. There’s no need to scrutinize every word like you’re reading a medical textbook,” he advised.
She responded in a half–joking manner. “I still prefer medicine. At least the readings on medical equipment won’t fluctuate due to someone taking kickbacks.”
The issue with the head of the marketing department had always been a thorn in her side. She reached the table, stroking the Ragdoll kitten’s paw a few times, finding a small measure of comfort in its soft, plush texture.
The Ragdoll kitten was not much bigger than a toy. Josiah gently nudged it forward while cradling it in his broad palm.
A hint of a smile played at the corners of Lysander’s lips. “I didn’t expect it to be so affectionate.”
The Ragdoll kitten’s eyes, as blue as sapphires, were darting around curiously. In the next moment, it let out a “meow” and promptly leaped onto Lysander’s lap. Fearing the kitten might fall, she quickly held it.

Update pls~...
Why no update ???...
Chapters 692 693 ans 694 are impossible to read. Not sure if there was an issue with translation.but the words do not make sense..impossible to follow story line...
I cant get over the fact that the writer is trying to show as if the male lead has committed a grave sin. First he didnt know she was pregnant because she never told him. Second right from the start she never communicated anything. She was unbothered even during her marriage. I am not saying the male lead is great but atleast he seems like a human with emotions unlike her. And there is no context for why she is so emotionless....
The female lead is not charming but an unbothered b word, there is a very big difference. There is no point of extending this story at all because even if you write 1000+ chapters at 1001 the male lead would still be doing everything for her and she wouldnt bat an eye even if someone killed him. I mean honestly either the start should have been written better where we do understand that she was deeply affected because of her divorce or just STOPPPPP. Even for fiction it is annoying....
