The Cherished Wife (Noelle and Charles) novel Chapter 385

Charles often teased her about her lack of stamina, but Noelle knew it was not her stamina that was lacking—it was his that was extraordinarily strong.

Not one to take advantage and then complain, Charles immediately apologized when he saw she was upset. "It's my fault. I wasn't considerate enough of your situation. I promise I'll be much gentler tonight!"

"Tonight?!" Noelle exclaimed in disbelief. "You're not allowed to sleep in the master bedroom tonight, and definitely not in the same bed as me!"

Still fuming, Noelle pushed Charles aside and marched into the bathroom, her emotions churning as she wondered how she ended up with someone like him. She realized now that she had not fully grasped how relentless he could be.

Charles watched her with a gleam in his eye, then shook his head in mock defeat. "Hurry up and get ready. I'll go downstairs and make breakfast for you."

Noelle had been furious just moments ago, but the gentle, indulgent tone in Charles' voice quickly softened her.

Resigned, she squeezed out some toothpaste and began brushing her teeth.

By the time Noelle finally made her way downstairs, Charles had already prepared breakfast and was waiting for her.

Feeling slightly embarrassed, she fiddled with her hair and tugged at the hem of her clothes. "It's my first day at work, and I don't want to make a bad impression, so I..." She glanced down at her outfit, which was simple yet appropriate.

Since it was her first day, she did not want to draw too much attention.

It was late autumn, and the weather had turned cool, so she wore a light sweater with a pale coat over it. The outfit made her look both sophisticated and elegant, truly eye-catching.

Charles' gaze lingered on her, his eyes full of admiration, though he did not say a word.

Feeling nervous, Noelle took a few steps closer. "What do you think of this outfit?"
