"Charles, h-how can you say that? I've been so accommodating to you. I came all the way from Capiton just to be with you. How can you speak to me like this?" Janet retorted.
"Don't want to hear it? You think I'm not speaking nicely? Then leave right now. I've made myself very clear. I won't marry you, so stop wasting your time on me. Otherwise, don't blame me for being unkind!" Charles said impatiently.
He then slammed the door shut, completely cutting Janet off outside. Janet did not expect Charles to be so heartless and nearly got hit by the door as it closed.
Janet's eyes turned red with tears almost flowing. She clenched her fists and glared fiercely at Ronald and Becky. "What are you looking at? Have you never seen such a beautiful woman before? Keep staring, and I'll have Charles fire you both."
Ronald smiled coldly but did not bother with Janet further. He turned to Becky, "Has Mr. Hoffman's schedule been arranged for today?"
Becky said respectfully, "It's been arranged, Mr. Wells. I'll bring it to you right away!"
As soon as Charles entered his office, he noticed the layout had changed. He scanned the room with a cold expression and then dialed the intercom, "Becky, come in!"
Becky, who was looking for documents for Ronald, could not help but shudder at Charles' icy tone. She looked at Ronald, "Mr. Wells..."
"Go ahead. Don't worry, Mr. Hoffman isn't angry with you!"
Becky nervously approached Charles' office door, surprised to see Janet still standing there.
She maintained her composure as she passed Janet, then knocked on Charles' office door. "Mr. Hoffman."
