The Cherished Wife (Noelle and Charles) novel Chapter 522

Before anyone could react, Janet had already dashed past Charles, heading straight for his sports car.

Janet dashed to the car, yanking at the door handle with no luck. Her eyes were glued to the car's interior, but she couldn't see anything. She slammed her hands against the door in frustration. "Open up! I know you're in there! You have the nerve to hop into Charles's ride but are too scared to face me? Come out, you homewrecker! Open the door!"

Janet was frantically pulling and tugging at Charles's car. A crowd had formed at the mall entrance, whispering and speculating about the drama unfolding. When they overheard Janet shouting ‘homewrecker’ at the person inside the car, all eyes were on her.

The onlookers were trying to figure out if Janet was the girlfriend and the one in the car the side chick, which would explain Janet's meltdown. Then, they all looked at Charles and realized he was drop-dead gorgeous enough for women to fight over him. In no time, the girls around whipped out their phones and started snapping pics of Charles. Some of the more justice-minded folks could not help but speak up, "Lady, that's your man, isn't it? He's handsome, but he's no good. You're better off dumping him!"

"No, I won't break up with him! Charles, please, just tell her to leave!" Janet pleaded, her eyes brimming with hope.

Charles, however, was a statue of ice. He gave Janet a brief, chilly look before focusing on Clarisse. "Mom, is this the spectacle you were hoping for? Is this the kind of class the Bakers are known for? What a wonderful niece you've raised!"

Charles's voice was frosty as he locked eyes with Clarisse, his words like ice. "You've worn out every last bit of respect I had for you."

"Charles, Charles!" Clarisse's voice cracked with panic. "You know Janet, she... Please, don't be mad at her. I'll take her away right now." She knew she had ticked off Charles this time and shot a desperate look at the driver. "Leonard, bring her back, now!"
