Brielle, who was feeling down, left with her manager. Winter also departed with Jane and Suzy.
Despite the unexpected events of the evening, Winter was content as she had secured the spokesperson deal.
As the venue emptied, only a few remained—including Mateo, Henry, and Nancy from the Hoffman family. Watching the crowd slowly disperse, Mateo approached Charles with a hint of weariness.
"Charlie, I fear today's events will reach your grandfather's ears. That young lady named Noelle, she..."
"What about her?" Charles feigned ignorance. "Noelle did an excellent performance, and she has been outstanding in the project department. Even Brian, who's usually so critical, has praised her."
"You know that's not what I mean." Mateo sighed in frustration. "Did you not see your mother's and Janet's behavior today? She looks just like Kelly..."
"Father, you're overthinking it. I'm not so naive. Noelle is Noelle, and Kelly is Kelly—I can distinguish between them. It's getting late. You and Uncle should head back early," Charles responded.
Henry nodded, agreeing. "Charlie's right, Mateo. He's in his 30s now and knows how to handle things. He's not a child anymore. You should ease up."
"You two... Forget it. I'm too tired to argue. But remember this, Charlie. Whether or not there's anything between you and Noelle, your mother and Janet know about her now. They won't let it go. I can't guarantee they won't do something to that innocent woman."
Charles smirked. "Seems like you're worried about me, Father? Don't worry, I know what I'm doing."
"If you say so. Well, I have nothing more to add. Just remember, no matter what your mother does, she's still your mother."
"I understand. As long as she doesn't cross the line, I won't take action."
