“I don’t know, which is why I called you to ask, Mr. Wells. I’m confident this has nothing to do with Winter, though I’m eager for her downfall as well. Mr. Wells, who do you think would like to cause harm to Mr. Charles?” Suzy’s intention was not to help Winter but merely to get on Ronald’s good side so she would inadvertently get on Charles’ good side.
Suzy knew that Winter was nothing. Charles was the actual big boss of this game they were playing. If she managed to win Charles’ favor, she would not need to worry about not getting revenge anymore.
Upon hearing that, Ronald merely sneered inwardly, thinking to himself that it was no surprise Suzy and Winter had used to be close friends when they were practically jackals of the same tribe. Compared to Annie, Suzy would not be an easy piece of work to deal with. At the very least, Annie had repented sincerely after learning of everything, but Suzy had not.
Annie had chosen to leave this unfavorable place, while Suzy had chosen to get revenge instead.
“No need to worry, Ms. Atherton. Even if the investigation ends up revealing that it was Winter who orchestrated everything, the issue will take the forefront rather than the person, and you will not end up getting involved.”
“That’s wonderful. I feel much more reassured by your word, Mr. Wells. What would you like me to do?”
“You don’t need to do anything, just sit back and watch things unfold. I will get to the bottom of things. Also, stop Winter from drawing trouble toward herself for the time being. Where is she now?”
“She’s on holiday with her husband, but will be catching a flight home today!” After Suzy told Ronald everything, he did not require anything else from her and merely tasked her with comforting Winter, ensuring she did not cause any further trouble for the time being, and preventing the paparazzi from getting their hands on any more dirt.
However, things would not be that easily resolved. Winter’s flight details were leaked, and soon after she got off the plane, she was immediately held up at the airport arrival hall by media journalists and paparazzi working for tabloids.
Since she was making the trip home solo this time, Winter did not have her personal assistant or her bodyguards with her. The minute she appeared, the sharp-eyed paparazzi immediately noticed her and rushed toward her, jamming their microphones toward her face and aiming their cameras at her.
“Ms. Winter, can you share your comment on this piece of news?”
