"A wedding ring?" Janice stared at Charles in astonishment, her eyes wide with disbelief. "Oh my god, Mr. Hoffman, you must be joking. Are you really getting married?"
The news of Charles wanting to get married was not just surprising to Janice; it would be unbelievable to anyone.
Who could ever imagine that Charles Hoffman, of all people, was planning a wedding?
Charles raised an eyebrow slightly, his expression calm as he looked at Janice. He nodded. "Yes, I'm getting married. Is that so hard for you to believe?"
He chuckled softly and continued, "Do you have any recommendations?"
Janice was still in shock. "I certainly have recommendations. Every piece of jewelry here is one-of-a-kind. No one else will ever have the same piece.
"But Mr. Hoffman, I'm finding it hard to imagine you getting married. Could it be that the person is…" She hesitated, then her eyes widened as a thought struck her. "It wouldn't be that actress from the recent rumors, would it?"
However, that did not seem right either. That actress was supposedly already married. Could the rumors be true? Had she divorced?
Janice looked at Charles again, only to see him smirk, his eyes carrying a trace of coldness. "What do you think?"
Unable to discern Charles' true feelings, Janice noted that he did not seem particularly keen on defending the actress. She relaxed a bit and took a deep breath.
"Well, that's your business, Mr. Hoffman, and I won't pry. But what kind of ring do you have in mind? What does your future wife prefer?"
"Something simple and understated," Charles replied. That single sentence was enough for Janice to understand that Mrs. Hoffman was likely a very low-key woman, completely different from that actress.
