Milo hung up the phone and silently lit himself a cigarette before he turned to look at Janet, who was sound asleep in the room. He got changed and then made a phone call. “Let’s meet up at our usual spot!”

The ‘usual spot’ Milo referred to was a hotel that did not seem to have anything special about it. However, these ordinary-looking spots always served as the best meeting spots.

The individual who met Milo here was the person who had been spying on Charles’ household all this while. They utilized all their connections to spy on Phoenix Tree Residence, the external areas of Collosus Group, and the Hoffman residence.

“Has Ms. Baker been acting differently in any way recently?”

“Different? What do you mean, Sir?” The man who answered Milo was Hogan Lowe, the man leading the mission to spy on Charles.

“I’m referring to Janet’s emotions.”

“Nothing particularly different. Ms. Baker usually does not get involved in any incidents, but…”

“But what?” Milo immediately asked as he turned to look at Hogan.

“Ms. Baker always becomes extremely worked-up when she sees Charles, and there are never any warning signs in advance. The minute Charles gets close to a woman, Ms. Baker will experience extreme emotional turmoil!” After a moment’s thought, Hogan added, “There isn’t anything else, though.”

“Did you guys send Janet any pictures?”

“Pictures? What pictures?” Hogan asked, confused. “We have never sent Ms. Baker any pictures!”

“But those injuries were caused by Janet seeing those pictures and losing control of herself. Didn’t you know that?” Milo’s instincts told him there was something amiss about those pictures, but Hogan insisted there were never any pictures. “We haven’t done anything besides stalking Charles, who has been extremely careful. Either way, we don’t have…” Hogan paused momentarily before saying, “Wait. On New Year’s Eve… It looked like Charles brought someone home with him!”
